I'm in for 2. Will use them for mountain streams/lakes... which we often drink unfiltered from with no ill effects.
I was interested, but this is not a purifier by EPA definition. Buyer be ware.

FWIW, that's presumably why it's called the LifeStraw Go Water Filter and not the LifeStraw Go Water Purifier. Water filters, such as the lifestraw and others, are typically considered sufficient for back-country use in North America. If your concern is international travel in developing countries, you'll want a "purifier." See http://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/water-treatment-international.html for more info.
kyllo63Just an FYI, up until my comment it was listed as a "purifier" and changed it appropriately to "filter" thereafter. I know what I am talking about when it comes to water filtration and purification. Most do not. I still see magazine adds and such listing these as purifiers. Check out the ad in OffGrid Magazine this month. Says it is a purifier 2x in the add.

@Luvtafsh - the Go filter is replaceable and it's very easy to pop out the old filter. @banzaiburger - the filter should clean 1,000 liters (264 gallons) of water or more. @CokeStyle - we have dropped the LifeStraw Personal before and it's been very popular. This usually essentially that same filter in a much easier-to-use format. Whereas the Personal requires you to either suck water directly from a body of water, or use a separate cup to scoop up water and then filter from that - the LifeStraw Go combines the two in a seamless manner. It's much easier to fill this bottle, and drink from it through the filter, without having to get on your stomach to drink like LifeStraw likes to advertise. The advantage of the Personal filter is that it is inexpensive and small and my guess is carried around as a backup filter, whether that's in a backpack, travel bag, car and so on.

According to Amazon, the filter is designed to purify up to 264 gallons (1,000 liters) of water before needing replacement. Looks like replacement filters are around $18.

Is the Lifestraw Go filter replaceable?

I can't seem to find how many gallons this purifier is rated to handle before the filter needs replacement on Lifestraw's site.
