the problem with this idea is that different sizes of lenses will have a different angle of view. And different locations of the sensors will have a different perspective. For example the sensors on the left and right side of the camera will se the right ear and left ear of a persons face, and not the other. This can be interpolated in software, and I have seen impressive results from autostitching software. But honestly I don't have confidence in a camera built around the idea of autostitching every image.
