one of my favorite work horse knives
I am a huge fan of the knives I own made by lionsteel. As some who absolutely loved my Lil Lionspy from the day it arrived, I wanted something similar that I would feel comfortable using at work. I do electrical work on rides at Disney and this has become my go to choice. The blade is short but very stout. it has the standard convex grind that usually accompanies Maniago made knives. it's about as tough of an edge that you can put into a 3" blade. My hands are not Large so it fits quite well in them and I can get 4 fingers around the handle. that said I would not recommend this knife to someone who has XL or larger hands. The action is good and like my Lil Lionspy this runs on Teflon washers. This might bother others who would prefer phosphorus bronze washers or even bearings, but i actually really like the choice of teflon for my work knife as it very easy to clean. Like my other Italian knives, it will never fall shut. This is not the fault of the washers or detent, but rather the very tight hold the lockbar has on the blade. The rotoblock is a great feature and performs well but i do not really use it. if i want to use a fixed blade i will grab a fixed blade. the closing action takes a bit of getting used to but a small flick of the wrist closes it pretty easily. There was no grit or grainy noise either opening or closing when i first got it and it has since broken in even further. The handle choice of aluminum is solid, but like everyone id prefer titanium. Mine is a hard anodized Red which has held up pretty well for how much it has been used and carried. I don't normally do red but I like the look of this one. The texture of the handle is fantastic. it has a very sure grip, even in wet or humid conditions. The texture is not quite as defined as the titanium/g10 on my Lil Lionspy but it's very nice for aluminum which keeps the weight of the knife fairly reasonable as well. The deep carry pocket clip is very functional and does not create any hotspots. it completely hides the knife in the pocket leaving only the glass breaker exposed. The glass breaker is a welcome addition but I have never used it for that purpose. I have however used it as a punch at work when I do not want a drill bit to run on me. So I really enjoy that feature. IMO the absolute highlight of this knife is the blade steel. The sleipner provides a fantastic balance of edge retention, toughness, stain resistance and ease of sharpening. performance wise it feels very similar to Cruwear steel. it's certainly tougher than D2 and easier to sharpen. it handles the humidity and work sweat to the point where it almost seems stainless. it does not really patina, but like cruwear, you can see faded signs of the past on the blade. Since getting this blade and really using it, I have tried to acquire more sleipner steel but it's not necessarily easy to find outside of Lionsteel made knives. it's certainly cheaper than cruwear/niolox/4v blades but really performs comparatively to them. I know the grain structure is probably more fine tuned on those previously mentioned steels, but sleipner has by far exceeded my expectations for $120 price tag. I hope this was helpful and I would absolutely recommend this knife to others. Particularly to those who actually use their knives and are intrigued by rarer blade steels and their overall performance. It's an absolute bang for your buck in that regard.

Impressed
I was really sceptical about this knife because of all the negative reviews. But I really liked the look on the site, so I took a chance. I'm glad I did. This is a very well made knife. The feel in the hand is very nice. I really like the integral aluminium body and slipner steel blade it's a very well made knife.

great knife ******DO NOT TAKE APART THIS KNIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!****
the knife is great! opens smoothly and good handling. this is my second integral and wanted to take it apart out of curiosity....... just as title states... shouldn't have taken it apart!!! damnit... took forever to take it back together with both nylon washers being mangled.... still works like a beast!!!! but now my centering is off but it's my fault. beautiful knife.1

For the money I'm not impressed. It's not a bad knife but I own hundreds of knifes and I'm really starting to question most knives are way over priced for what you get.

It's well made and good looking. Comfortable in the hand. Unfortunately the lockbar lock keeps engaging randomly in the hand. It's fairly unnecessary as the tension on my lockbar is fairly strong and a pain to open. I wish I could fix this knife ever so slightly to make it solid 5. Oh well, onto the next.

first off a bit smaller than i thought. Orange looks great and for 100 a good deal. this is a hard use knife tho, thick blade with thick convex edge. maybe of they slimmed it down a bit for this small version and had bronze washers id give it 5 stars. of your looking for a small hard use blade this is it. small niggles but id biy it at that price again knowing what i know now.
