Liong Mah’s Tempest is equipped with a 3.75-inch straight-back blade made from S35VN stainless steel, which is known for its edge retention and resistance to corrosion. At 5.5 ounces and nearly 9 inches long, this full-size folder can easily handle tough tasks, yet it looks anything but brutish. The stonewashed blade complements a subtly textured titanium handle for a uniform look suitable for Sunday service or a night on the town. The blade deploys with a firm press on the flipper tab. Once the knife is open, a finger choil is revealed for extra control. Blue anodized titanium hardware gives the knife a colorful accent, while a 3D-sculpted, blade-shaped pocket clip provides convenient tip-up carry on the right side.
From an early age, Liong Mah had a fascination with folding knives and sought to improve existing designs. After studying several books on the subject, Mah learned the intricate anatomy of the folding knife and strived to create his own. With a focus on minimalist designs and low-maintenance materials, Mah brings a contemporary vision to classic knife design conventions.
