This is something of an odd drop. I would think that whoever joined would use the Liong Mah and be happy. Throwing in a cheap CRKT knife just seems like "Oh, here's some crap we had laying around and we'll throw it in with this expensive high-end knife." A person who was buying a Liong Mah to carry wouldn't most likely ever use (or want) the GSD. Just my opinion.

WavesterFair admission up front: I'm a steel snob who enjoys using high end knives which tend to use high end steels. I also enjoy less expensive knives, but only when featuring a quality steel. My comments are my opinion only, and not to be taken as factual statement.
To your comment, I respectfully say "That is your opinion." To me, the GSD is a cheap $50 knife made in China, of Aus8. It's not that great, and frankly, that was the point I was making. I can't see someone who is ready to drop $400 on a high end S35V knife seeing this cheap add-on and going "Oh man! A GSD! I gotta get one of those!" CRKTs are known for poor to middling quality, using poor to middling quality steels. In any case, I'm not here to attack or defend CRKT or their products. I merely shared my opinion based on my direct observations in hand of the GSD. I have held a GSD a number of times, and just have not been impressed. And with the bargain basement materials, why would I be? A youtube video isn't going to change my mind. I expect you'll understand if I don't watch the video you have posted. :)
Have a good day!

KnifeGuyIt's all good (even the part about not watching the video lol). I should have put "In my Opinion" at the end of my statement because that is what I was trying to relay. I respect yours as well. This deal was $50 sweeter yesterday though - but I see now they are having pricing issues.

WavesterWavester, I would like to clarify (something I should have done earlier) in that I don't think the GSD is crap, per se. That really was just a figure of speech I was using in that instant, LOL
It's just, well it is what it is, an inexpensive knife made of inexpensive materials. And that's what was odd for me about this drop. Someone ready to spend Chris Reeve Sebenza money would be spending on the Liong Mah knife, and I am not sure that adding an inexpensive knife on the side as added incentive would really be...well, added incentive, you know?
Like, if I was trying to sell you a Rick Hinderer XM-24 and you were waffling, would you be suddenly all in if I was like "Heeeeyyyyy...what if I tossed in this Kershaw Link?" Ya know?

KnifeGuyI'd rather spend $400 towards a Hinderer XM-24 and Kershaw Link deal, sign me up! But I refuse to spend mid-tech knife money on Chinese made knives!

JNine138Do you happen to own an iPhone? :)))))))) Kidding asides, I collect knives too and have to say that Chinese made knife quality has improved at a shocking rate.
