I'm going to be driving a pair of AKG Q701's with these. I'll initially be hooking these up to my Fiio X1 using it's fixed level output but I'm looking for a USB & optical DAC to use with my cd player and laptop. Can anybody recommend a DAC that will pair well with this that's $200 USD or less and can be shipped to Canada?
I listen to classical and would like something that doesn't mush the bassy string instruments together while providing clarity & sound stage for the higher frequency instruments such as some of the brass & violins.
