I am no audiophile, but I am laying some ground work for my first setup to escape my Bose QC25s. They are great for travel (I spend a lot of time on planes and in hotels) and phone calls, but it is time to step it up.
I jumped in to this buy and also picked up:
(1) SMSL SD793 DAC/Amplifier (1) NVX Audio XPT100 headphones
I made these purchases after reading reviews and watching some on YouTube from hifi members.
My curiosity is now to confirm my plan of using optical out of my PC into the SMSL, RCA to Little Dot, then pass to headphones. Sound reasonable?
Is there a recommended cable brand I use for the RCAs?

shatMonoprice tends to be the go to budget with quality for most audiophiles. For optical it 100% doesnt matter. A 50 cent optical cable with sound 100% the same as a 1000$ opitcal cable. RCA is a little differnt. But you don't need $100 cables, thats for sure. I would say anything more 15$ is a total waste of money. Don't get me wrong there are some more durable and cooler looking cables that run 25-50 that I would consider getting, but you don't "need" them.
Edit: Also check out head-fi if you want headphone/amp/dac advice. The headphone subreddit on Reddit is okay too, but I would say the crowd over at head-fi is far more experienced and more civilized for the most part.

shatcable doesn't have to be expensive or famous branded, most important is the quality build. Do some research or read forums and price comparison after u have decided your own choice.
