Need Help, need Input ;) There is different output MK2 (300mW/300Ohm) and MK3(350mW/300Ohm) . Is the difference because of the different tubes? I use a Sennheiser HD650 (love it), is the Output of the MK2 enough ( 50mW less)?
Is the board layout the same for both amps? if so, then I will be happy with the MK 2 because I do not need an expensive extra case. I have already ordered replacement tubes from Canada, UK, Latvia and Russia.

DiegoDEEI use the Little Dot MKII with the HD600's and HD650's. There is plenty of power to spare and I have the gain switches set on "5". The next setting for the switches is "10" if you need more gain. I pre-amp the LDMKII with my Schiit Jotunheim (DAC Module) and it sounds great. The LDMKII is a wonderful pairing with the Sennheisers and the Russian Voskhod tubes are my favorites (followed closely by the Mullard "Black Holes"). The boards are different as you can see by just looking at the tube placement, though I don't know what other circuit changes may be present.

OCBobThank you very much! I look for the Schiit Modi2 or the O2 ODAC to drive the LD. I am currently waiting for Mullard 8100, Voshkod 6ZH1P-EV, Tung Sol 6AK5, GE 6AK5W (Military 5Star Tubes from Canada), and RCA Vintage 1957 Tubes 6AK5. Driver Tubes will be a NOS matched pair of 6N6P (Gold Grid). I am already looking forward to a little boy about the new Toy.....

DiegoDEEYou're welcome. The Modi 2 is a great pairing with the Little Dot MKII, and if you get the non-Uber version you don't have to deal with a power supply since all it needs is the power off of the USB.

DiegoDEEThe little dot mk 3 is a totally different headphone amp, circuit board, design, layout and size. I've had the mk 3 now for close to five years and it looks completely different. There's also the mk 1, 4 and 5. There may be others as well that I may not be aware of.

DiegoDEEHello. I currently have an audioquest dragonfly red DAC with HD6xx (and some other headphones like aiaiai TMA-2). Was wondering whether the LDMKII pairs well with the dragonfly red or are there any other tubes that pair well with the dragonfly? From my experience, the dragonfly gives a brighter sound experience, especially on acoustic songs.

jotanteAnswer up, on the other thread. And speaking of sound, you can expect way more bass and soundstage with the Little Dot coming from a compact solid state amp, and a bit more wamth, you'll really like it. It also depends on the tubes, you should (and will) buy different tubes and test for yourself what you like and dislike about them, the nuances of each one, the little details... That's called tube rolling and it's a whole hobby by itself.

jotanteHeads up, I've been using LDMKII with Voshkod 62H1P-EV and Russian 6H6P for power plus AQ DF 1.5 DAC plus Shiit Wyrd for a while. Using the legendary ATH M50 and I must say its "liquidy" and less fatiguing for long time! Plus it still is my "go-to" when listening to various jazz collection even though I have "higher grade" set ups (Shiit Lyr2 and Bifrost Multibit, and Beyerdynamic DT 1770 PRO). Don't get me wrong about my higher grade set up, its good and all, but (too me) LDMKII and the "dated DF 1.5 DAC" both sounds like your "sleeping on a cloud", cool and soft with a hint of warmth to the sound:)

KimcheeKowboyEveryone likes what they like and I had almost that exact setup next to my bedroom for two years! I had the Little Dot mk3 with the original Audio Technica ATH50s.
