Worst purchase from Massdrop. Terrible noise on left channel regardless of volume setting, gain setting, input choice, valve combination. I've wasted so much money trying to solve the hum - complete waste of money, the whole lot is going in the trash!
instantsquidRandom question, tried shielding it from EM interference? I know that depending on what electonics/metallic crap (pop cans) I have next to mine, I can get audible noise in one or both channels. Besides that, I've had an issue once with hissing that I fixed by flicking one of the audio tubes which must've reseated it or something - obviously not helpful to you here. If it's something wrong besides that, rip. Mine's been running daily for 7 years without issue.
Mako321It's been tried in a three or four different locations - even different buildings. I've tried two or three different sets of tubes, all rotated around - no difference to the hum. It's there even at zero volume. Definitely something wrong with the circuitry.
TheOneAndOnlyI've had it too long now to send it back. I'm in the UK so it would have expensive to post, especially as I kept trying to resolve the issue with replacement valves, power cables, fuses, etc. I'm just fed up with it now!
instantsquidWhy not sell it for a few bucks instead? Plenty of DIY audiophiles who would love to add some time and patience to the unit instead of it just getting tossed...
