With the launch of the Genesis X1 automatic, LIV Watches became the most crowdfunded Swiss watch startup in Kickstarter history. And now the company is back with the Genesis GX1A. Like its predecessor, this black watch has an aggressively knurled bezel and large Arabic numerals that are separated in two, calling to mind a digital watch display. However, instead of the subdials found in the chronograph, the GX1A swaps them out for a textured inner dial with grooves like a mussel shell. At 3 o’clock, just outside the inner dial is a date window. It also supplants the quartz movement for a Sellita SW200-1 26-jewel movement, which can be found beneath the robust 100-meter water resistant stainless steel case. Turn the case over and you can see it in motion thanks to the sapphire display caseback.
