Whew, l almost missed it the second time around.
I hope I won't offend anybody too much with my little off-topic-rant, but sometimes I'm just wondering about the state of the electric guitar; whatever happened to that inherent spirit of experimentation to discover new sounds, new ways to communicate an wider range of emotions and ultimately creating whole new music genres from the ground up, which was made possible because the pioneers back in the day actually -did- embrace new technology? It just seems so ironic how conservative a huge amount of electric guitar players have become. They're still playing the same flawed, excuse me, "timeless" gear, designed by guys who couldn't possibly have imaged how it was going to be {ab}used by the pioneers like Jimi (who would have probably been burned at the stake for unleashing such devilish noise if the current mindset had existed to that degree back then). But, I guess that we all sometimes want to feel like our idols, and that's probably why I still have my olympic white strat around when I feel like travelling back to 1969 for a few hours.
