I'm really happy with this bag. I'll just add a few things to the other reviews:
- Leather: (1) The rustic pine color is really nice in person. (2) The suede lining on the lid is a nice touch, but (3) I would have lined the bottom with the suede as well (or even instead). I carry around a fairly angular laptop, and I'm afraid it's going to wear a hole through the bottom if I don't add some reinforcement. I'll probably have some suede cemented in.
- Pockets: (1) For me, one of the reasons I bought this bag was because the design isn't crazy with extra pockets. But (2) I would make the front pocket taller. That would solve the pen problem, and also make it more useful in general. (3) I have no problems with the back pocket - it fits an iPad perfectly. (4) Nice touch to line behind the fasteners so they don't scratch stuff in that pocket. (5) Also, the little hidden pocket between the back pouch and the main bag is a nice touch. Fits phone, wallet, or a few keys perfectly. (6) My "sleeve" fits documents just fine. They don't go in very easily now because it isn't constructed to have "volume" (i.e. it's just two flat pieces of leather sandwiched together) and so there's friction, but I'm putting a large hardback book inside to stretch it out a bit, then it should be perfect.
- Closure: Maybe the most annoying thing to me: the female ends of the buckles attached to the base of the main compartment just sort of flop around when unlatched, which means you can't really carry the bag around unlatched for easy access. It seems like they could have been either attached higher up or else sewn on so as not to flop around. I might have them altered that way (unless someone can think of a reason not to?).
- Lid: I think it's about a centimeter or two too wide. It's nice that it covers the main compartment well, but it also interferes with the strap hooks.
- Size: The main compartment is about as big as I need (small laptop, lunch, thermos, rain shell) and no bigger. I definitely would not want to carry around a 15" laptop in here.

NotMyRealNamesaid "I definitely would not want to carry around a 15" laptop in here." Tyler specifically said that a 15.6" laptop would fit. Have you tried this?

cagenutsThe width of the main panel of the bag is just under 14" wide (I'm not sure where the 15.5" advertised width comes from). My current laptop is 12" wide and fits nicely between the two seems flush against the back of the bag. I have an old ~15" laptop with a body that is a little over 14" wide. Putting that laptop in the bag causes the bag to actually bulge out at the sides. Just browsing around a little, it looks like it's not uncommon for 15" or 15.6" laptops to be pushing 15" in width.
I guess a 15" macbook pro (13.75") would be better, but still wouldn't sit comfortably against the back of the main pocket due to the seams.

NotMyRealNameThanks for your feedback and for joining the drop. Glad to see it's working well for you. Want to reply to the 'female end' issue. This is definitely designed to be carried with those clasped. Sorry to hear that aspect isn't in keeping with your hopes. We have some Messenger style bags in design now that don't have the closure for quick access stuff. I end the stitching where we do to account for more or less being in the bag and affecting where the buckles are buckled up the strap --- also allowing for stowing magazine/jacket/overshirt under the straps. I'll attach an image to this when I can dig it up. But again - THANK YOU for supporting my company. It's hugely appreciated.
Thanks, Tyler - LM // CEO

NotMyRealNameI ordered this specifically to use for 15" laptops (for myself and another as a gift) and I can say that these do NOT fit a 15" laptop properly. While the openning is 15.5" the base is only 14" which does not fit most laptops of this size. Wish I had known this as I certainly would not buy a new laptop to fit this bag (nor could I ever ask anyone else to when I got this gift for them).

NotMyRealNameThe bag was redesigned. I ordered from a previous drop but after speaking with them I'm interested in the updated one too (I wanted to get one for coworkers of mine). The new drop will have the updated size.
