Product Description
Among the oldest shoemakers in England, Loake 1880 is still run today—five generations after its birth—by the Loake family. Like the founders did in the 19th century, the company’s craftsmen still construct each pair of shoes in their 1880 line using a Goodyear welt, a painstaking process that ensures the shoes are recraftable for years to come Read More
SusanASince it seems that people have already requested their pair have the dainite sole, is it not possible to make that option available again and communicate with Loake to have that option fulfilled? I would imagine it would be no issue for them to sew a dainite sole rather than a leather one, especially considering this is a mass order. Personally, I would love to participate in this drop but really wish there was a dainite option (at least for the dark brown).
Having a Goodyear welt is very welcomed but I'm interested to know if it is a 270 or 360 degree? Also any recommendations on sizing comparable for a 10C in most Allen Edmonds lasts. Thanks.
Is this offered in Dark Brown with Dainite or Brown Dainite? The drop down menu on the checkout page stated "Brown Dainite?" Can somebody confirm this?
KesboI also found them for 200 pounds ($253) at Herring shoes. That is not a sale price either. The only problem is that Loake won't let Herring ship Loake shoes to the USA.
I ordered a 10 UK, as I normally wear either a 10.5 or 11 US in dress shoes. True to their description, there was a small amount of extra room. I suppose this is due more to the extra width with their last, rather than the length. On Loake's website, they said the 10 UK is comparable to a 10.5 US rather than an 11. For this reason, I think the 9.5 UK would have been too small for me.
