The led light has a maximum power of 2w. Typical lights at 2w and 1800k have around 60Lumens.

The "custom 1800k LED bulb" looks great but is it replaceable?

Does not appear so. Even on the manufacturer's website where it shows what's in the box, the "bulb" is attached. I'm guessing it's a permanent mounted LED inside the decorative "bulb" shroud.

MastiffMikeDoes that mean that the bulb will never burn out? The fact that you can't replace the bulb is pretty concerning.

thediplomat1124Well, it's LED and most manufacturer's claim LED bulbs have like a 20,000 hour lifecycle. I've had to replace plenty of LED bulbs over the years that were used nowhere near that much, so I don't put much faith in manufacturer's claims of how long they'll last. Especially one that's way overpriced for a cheap plastic light (and reviews on other sites have commented just how cheap it is). As for this light, short of soldering on a replacement LED, I'd think you'll have to replace the whole thing. And based on the handful of reviews I've seen, this item looks great in photos but is not high quality (same goes for their fan that Drop is also selling - though the brand does seem to get OK reviews on their keyboards). On Aliexpress it's selling for $30ish and not many people are buying it, but the few reviews there are good (if you consider reviews on Ali trustworthy, but I don't). But maybe someone (from Drop?) can ask the supplier directly about LED lifespan/replacement?

thediplomat1124Oh it'll stop working at some point, the question is when? A lot of LED manufacturers claim LED have a lifecycle of like 20,000 hours, but I've never had anything LED last that long (closer to 2,000 hours seems more realistic IME, but then it may not even be the LED that goes, it'd likely be the rechargable battery, the flicker components, or just the internal wiring) The whole thing is lightweight plastic (it's about the weight of a 2/3rds full can of soda) and there aren't many (trustworthy) reviews on it. The Amazon reviews aren't great (and mention just how cheap it looks and feels - same goes for the fan Drop is selling by the same manufacturer, though their keyboards do seem to get good reviews). On Aliexpress where this lamp is $30ish, there's lots of listings for it but only a handful sold, but the couple of reviews are good (if you trust Ali reviews - I don't). Maybe a Drop employee can ask the supplier directly what the lifecycle of the LED is, and if there's a way to replace it short of soldering on a new LED (1W 1800k LEDs appear to be selling for about $0.08 each, but it's the tools and skill to remove and replace the LED that would be the real hurdle for some people).

thediplomat1124Led light bulbs have a lifetime between 10 and 15 years. At that point the lithium ion battery probably had to been switched once or twice...
