It's a shame it couldn't get to the lowest price because that really is a killer deal, especially with a discounted WPA too.
Lotus has a 420 sale if anyone is interested. Code 420sale.

The lotus can vape concentrates as well if not better than the solo because you can go higher in temperature. However, it is not advise to go very high temps on the lotus.
The lotus is more durable and reliable than the solo. It's not only about electronics randomly failing but also how much it can withstand impact. You can drop the lotus 1,000 times and it won't break, drop the solo 10 times and something inside might break or become loose.
You buy the solo for ease of use and larger bowl. You buy the lotus for outstanding reliability and durability.
Plus, you can find butane and lighters in any city. If your solo battery dies (and it will), you need to find a specific source.

Or I could get an Arizer solo for the same price here which has a built in heating element...

To complete and correct things about the Solo (from personal experience this time) : - Very easy to use, helped me get a few smokers to seriously think about converting to vaporizing. - Third-party wooden water pipe adapters are nearly always available if you're not willing to wait for the glass ones to be. - Has an auto shut-off feature that turns it off after 12 minutes. - Tastes great. I personally never got any bad taste even after prolonged high temp session with the same load. - Can be used while in charge. - Can be charged in a car with a first-party adapter. - Has a sufficient bowl size to share it with a couple people (maybe more) without having to reload mid-session. - Can definitely run concentrates as long as you know the method to use based on the type of concentrate you're vaping. - Can be stealthy-ish, whereas I fail to see how using the Lotus can be stealthy at all.
That being said, I've just bough my first desktop vaporizer so my next purchase in this area will have to wait but I'm glad to see the Lotus on Massdrop. I truly enjoy the Solo but sometimes I need something reliable to take with me when I'm spending more than a couple days off the power grid, and the Lotus seems like a great option for those times.

AnonThanks for dropping more knowledge into the comments!
The Lotus *definitely* is not discreet or stealthy - I do not and would not use it in public. It still tops my charts, given its level of flavor, the punch it can pack, and (on a completely pointless note) the ritual of heating up the plate feeling so much more like smoking than most vapes.

A few questions: Is this for the V3? Are the pouch and torch in the image included? Which stem length and cap color?

What does this piece offer that the vapor genie does not for half the price?
Main difference seems to be that vapor genie uses ceramic foam to transfer heated air and this uses air running over a heated metal plate.. Neither seems as if one would offer an advantage over the other..

Thats a very fair point about inlet air-quality, by drawing clean air over the heated plate instead of drawing heated air from the lighter would surely make for a smoother hit as butane is very rough on the lungs. I myself have a vapor genie and though there is a learning curve, once you get it, you get it.. I've got it down to a science. They recommend using a hemp wick instead of butane but I am not able to be nearly as consistent with a wick as I am with a lighter..
I'm curious if you could use this with a non torch lighter if you held it upside down.

LootaI wouldn't try a normal lighter - they warn against using non-torch lighters and I've seen a few forum posts where people fouled up their plates with it. Upside down might work with an aluminum stem, but definitely won't work with the water pipe adapter in a J-hook.

Correct me if i am wrong, but this MSRP $147.00 is for both pipe + the water pipe adapter. For just the pipe kit the MSRP is only $124
