It did take forever to finally receive this drop, but I'm pretty happy now that it's in my hands. There's enough range to connect to the DVR box from outside the garage across my condo. Video quality is better than I expected for being 960p and wireless. Infrared reaches far and illuminates the alley behind my garage well enough. Still need to cannibalize a hard drive from one of my computers to put in the box, but it functions just fine without one for now. Instructions are in sparse Chinglish and the interface is pretty clunky and unpolished, but I've gotten video to work via LAN on my browser (just enter the IP address), and over WAN on my iPhone. Video is smooth and clear on both devices. Huge thumbs down for requiring Internet Explorer (yes, IE, not even Edge!) for the WAN browser interface though; it won't even let you log in with Chrome.
Compared to the Netgear Arlo 4 channel at $650, this is a very solid 4 channel surveillance system at $185.80 shipped. The interface does leave a lot to be desired, but it does exactly what I need without any bullshit. I'm happy that I can check on my house from work now.
