For extra insulation on those brisk winter hikes, this Argon Down Vest is handmade by Luke’s Ultralite and weighs in at 4.2 ounces, nearly an ounce less than most comparable large-production vests. For supreme warmth and loft, each baffle of high-quality 10D ripstop fabric is stuffed individually with water-resistant 800-fill goose down. The down-filled collar and shockcord-adjustable waist keep drafts out, while the low-key black-and-copper color scheme is compatible with any other layer you decide to throw on.

Growing up in the Scouts and eventually becoming an Eagle Scout, Luke Stegner has had a long history in the outdoors. With a career in the US Army as a Paratrooper, he served in Afghanistan where he supported the 7th Special Forces Group.
