Cheaper on amazon with prime delivery....

Really? Where are you seeing the Brass one for cheaper? The price here on MD went up since the last drop. Use to be $19.99 starting price. 🤔
It seems disingenuous to have the title tout the titanium version with that fantastic price right under, only to discover that it is actually an additional $20. I realize you may have recycled the description, as you have for many drops recently, but you really need to stop doing that as well. It is very annoying to find options in the description or accessories included in the description not available or included in the drop. Seriously, stop. There are not hundreds of drops going up every day. Take a minute to get it right. Your community will appreciate it.

I completely agree. Plus, it appears the weight is only listed for the titanium AND it doesn’t specify if that is with or without the batteries installed.

I agree 100%!!I am always bragging up Massdrop for all the good they do and I'm happy to do so. However when I went to buy this beautiful flashlight at what I thought was a great deal I was a little pissed to see it was just an ol bait & switch trick. I don't know who's job it is to make these decisions but someone needs to get there shit together. That's not the way to treat your valued customers. It's something I'd expect from Aliexpress.😈

Too bad the brass has sold out because I would have bought one!!
Massdrop won't let me leave a review for some reason, so I cant 3 star rate this. Ive had the brass version for at least a year. I used to carry it everywhere for about 3 months and haven't used it since. The light flickers constantly and im always fidgeting with the body of the light to make sure its tight but that doesn't always seem to be the issue. The finish was beautiful, when the light isn't flickering it is very bright, its small so it takes up very little pocket real estate and its so light you barely know its there. Overall I would never buy this again since its just the same old struggle I've had with any cheap flashlight... the flickering! It looks pretty but not reliable.

“Tweezers”? Mine is so glued in that I can't get it to budge in either direction with needle nose pliers! 🤨

Just an update, I haven't had any issues with it since I followed ZeroAir's advice 14 weeks ago
RATS! Only Cree for the Brass model?
Still, at this price, I'm tempted to pick up the Brass one just so I'll have replacement parts for the Titanium and Black ones if/when they start acting up.
Hi, I recieved my flashlights and am curious, one light came in a very nice QUALITY plastic and the two others were just laying in the box, with nothing wrapped around them. Is that normal? ..It MADE me feel these were returned and then given them back to me. I hope not. Can anyone answer if theirs were wrapped in plastic? Thanks Barry
I just got the brass version of this one somewhere else other than MD, and I have to say that so far it's been close to great, but a bit of a mixed bag:
1. It's hefty and seems to be well made. Nicely finished. 2. 3 light levels are well chosen, and high is definitely very bright 3. I got the LED with the warmer tint, and I have to say that it may not be as bright as the cool white, but it's very nice! Very easy on the eyes and a warmer colored light. 4. Doesn't tail stand 5. Clicky is a bit wobbly, but not objectionable. It is also a nice chrome metal 6. It seems the lens reflector glows a feint green for some time after it's been turned off 7. Batteries rattle around a bit inside tube... which may be the cause of the main caveat... 8. At least on mine, if you shake the light or even if it slips in your hand abruptly, the light level automatically changes! It'll toggle onto high all by itself if I point it up or in a different direction. I think it's because the batteries shift inside and when they momentarily lose contact, it thinks it got a tail switch command to change light settings. At one point, I could wave the thing around and get it to toggle through all 3 light settings without ever touching the tailswitch. Not good. I tugged at the rear spring in the rear cap to get it to keep more tension on the batteries and that seemed to help, but I still can't get this thing to stop doing it completely. A huge caveat for what is otherwise a nice light.

BTW, the battery rattling problem is with Eneloops. The nicads that it came with admittedly did seem to rattle less and did not seem to have the same problem. But still... really?
DaveinSM
Strangely, it does tail stand now, though not super stably. I think it's taken some time to settle in, but this is a cool light, especially for the price. It's definitely a bit heftier in weight than a similar aluminium model would be, though.
Pretty disappointed. This light feels really nice, the brass is solid and the light has some heft. Worked well for a couple months, but it just doesn't stand up to everyday carry. Stopped working today. New batteries, but no light. Oh well, at least it was cheap. If someone could point me to a light with similar aesthetics and form factor I would greatly appreciate it.
Titanium version arrived a couple of days ago. Beautiful piece. Super smooth and the button action is good.
My only disappointment is that the machining isn't as precise as it could be. Either the brass ring behind the head is too thin, or the threads haven't been machine back far enough to fully seat the head. As a result the ring kind of flops around in the overly large space allotted for it. You can kind of see it in the photos here of the titanium model. The brass ring appears at an angle and the space can't be closed completely to keep the ring from moving around (mine is more pronounced than the one shown here). It's the only thing keeping this light from being as classy as it could be.

Put a pair a tweezers in those two holes you see in the driver, and screw it in clockwise. It's possible the driver emitter module/pill isn't screwed down all the way. It's a threaded brass slug with the emitter on one side and the driver on the other
And a late reply back… I can’t get it to budge. I’m afraid of damaging it if I try any harder. I’m living with it for now. It seems to be glued in with silicone in the threads.
anyone have the CRI numbers for those LEDs?
Missed it last time, and you only regret the things you don't buy! So I have the Cree Titanium heading to me in Mexico!
Anybody know if this will fit in the pen pocket on a flight suit sleeve?

Dang, that makes it just a little too wide to fit. I can’t fit a AA battery in there. I need something about the width of a sharpie. Thanks for the heads up.
Flightpro
Well, good luck then. If I come across a 2xAAA light that is less diameter, I will post here for you. There are plenty of single AAA lights, but they won't be as bright.
anyone know if the gold colored ring on the Ti flashlight can be removed? what is it made of? I'd prefer to sand it down to get rid of the bling
If its brass I could quickly force a patina...

It's purely decorative. Has no bearing on heat distribution or anything else.
buckten
Thanks for the clarification. It must be entirely different than the AAA version since MassDrop does say it‘s for heat disappation. 👍🏼
Well, at least Massdrop is completely consistent with lacking details on flashlights. A large percentage of the flashlight drops NEVER list the order of brightness levels. I was going to get in on the titanium version, but since Massdrop has once again FAILED MISERABLY to give the pertinent details, I will not join the drop. The order of modes matters significantly to me while it may not to others. I will not buy a light of this style that is anything other than L-M-H.

Thanks for that. Saved me from getting on the drop.
Martingw
Don't let something that simple stop you. It's only a 3 mode light, and one of the nicest penlight made
Anyone know what the ui is like? Is it a momentary switch? What's the order of modes?
jarvis959
You can half press the button on the end to switch between the low-medium-high. It is a physical click to turn it on and off but not to switch between modes. I use this thing almost everyday. I like this model and the AA Prince model. Both have the same UI except the Prince can get like 800 lumen out of a double-a rechargeable somehow. The prince has some throw while this one is good for indoor use or in the yard at night. Nothing crazy but good EDC and perfect for snooping around in computers and such.
I just received my Ti+Cree light. This being my first experience with the light...was it not supposed to come with a pair of AAA batteries? There was a cutout in the foam...but it was empty.
Chainik
It wasn't a mistake unfortunately, on my packing slip printed -batteries not included. Disappointing since we see the foam cut-outs like you said. I ordered some eneloop pro AAA rechargeable batteries to keep my light on.
Great light! Have had it a week now no complaints. Brass still has a polished luster to it. Nichia Led gotta love it!
I have the brass version of this light with the Nichia emitter, and it is a nice light.
The brass patinas over time and looks really classy. Worn in, but not ragged. And the heft of the brass makes it feel really substantial.
I can't speak for the electronics, but the brass body is solid and seems like it could last for generations.
I've come to appreciate the penlight form factor a lot. It's slim, so it's more unobtrusive than shorter, squatter lights.
It slips very easily into the edge of your pocket and you don't even know it's there.
It's a nice alternative to the tactical look that most flashlights seem to go for these days.

Here’s a pic.
Its not not the best pic, but you get the idea of what the brass will look like patinaed.
I keep a few other hard items in my pocket, so the patina on mine has scratches. And it’s worn itself smooth near the clip and higher after keeping my card wallet in the same pocket.
if you don’t keep hard items or things that will buff the patina smooth in the same pocket, the brass will develop a rich, even patina coating.
It comes off as looking a little dirty in the pic, but looks a lot richer in real life.

I dig it, thanks for the pic... I can def understand what you are describing and how the patina is developed by its environment. I’m going to give it a shot... the sickness in me now is on the hunt for brass items to collect to compliment it. Sigh...
Any warranty?
Perhaps penlight means something different in the EDC community than it does the medical community so does anyone know if this will work for judging pupillary reaction? I'd prefer not to sear anyone's retinas.

It'll sear a retina.
Rashkh
Buckten is right with 25lm. Also, you can shine the light to the side of each eye if you're worried about it being too bright.
Took a long time to get to me after it shipped, I'm in Canada but longer than 3 weeks is a little long, I order off ebay all the time and 1 or 2 weeks is normal from US, the light works great and I'm happy with it and the price was good too.
I'll wait for a copper one....
DOBTruckers
+1 for copper. Everything should be made of copper. The Ti one looks pretty nice, though, honestly. I've got webbing on my bag; this looks like it would sit nicely behind the straps.
what is "Tail stand capability"?
Load 2 more comments
still pretty cool i guess
dfathers
You can turn it on and stand it up on its tail end pointing at the ceiling.
I got this yesterday, clip is broken... who do I talk to about that?
Garbage. I got 2 brass and only one works. 2 New Duracell's and no light. I guess I paid 2x price for one crappy flashlight. Never again!!
DrTom
Really? After waiting an extra month? What a disappointment.
FartTouch
The one that works is very nice and Ive spent more on flashlights than these so.....I'm over it. Just not a fan of the brand now.
Hey all - Sorry for the delayed update in the talk thread to go with the email that was sent a couple weeks back. As a couple members mentioned, the email stated that these orders would be delayed, but were expected to ship within 30 days of the original ship date. As of now I don't have any additional information, but I'll follow-up with the team and let you know if there's any more details on when these are expected to arrive in our warehouse and ship out.
bradr
Thank you, please keep us up to date.
Today the shipment will be two weeks overdue. Any update please?
cagenuts
On September 26 I received this email:
" Due to an unexpected delay, these orders may ship later than the original estimated ship date. Our apologies for any inconvenience. If we find that the drop is going to be delayed by more than 30 days, we will let you know. "
Any updates? No word since the email...
I've not heard anything about my light yet what's going on
Where is my flashlight? Ship date: 9/26. It's 10/3 and no light.
HipGoober
They emailed us to say it was going to be late. Again. Oh, Massdrop. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, you... can get fooled again.
