Raiden911Not at all. I'm actually quite impressed. I have AKG K3003s, and I prefer the LZ A4s as my daily drivers. Note: I don't have any actual audiophile testing equipment, this is all just from the feels.
The AKG K3003s are tight, and really accurate, but maybe too much so. The bass with the reference filter is good, but not great. Putting on the bass filter caused the overall sound to feel muddy.
Now, the LZ-A4s sound more v-shaped. The bass is tight, deep and punchy. With the red back filter, it might reach into basshead levels - red back feels very lush. The treble is crisp and nimble and doesn't have much if any sibilance. The mids are a tad recessed compared to the AKG K3003s though. The decay also feels longer than the AKG.
Now, the soundstage on LZ-A4 sounds much wider than the AKGs. I love it. I'm using the red back and blue front filters to maximize the frequency range and it sounds great, but the ability to switch filters in and out as you please it a great bonus. My only concern is with the tread wearing out with too frequent filter changes, but I guess only time will tell.
Edit: I'm using the Dragonfly red dac/amp powered by either my MacBook pro or iPhone 7 plus.

JephreAwesome, that is exactly the thing I needed to read. Unfortunately I didn't get in on this drop, but I still ordered them. Thanks for your input!!!
