I did a search and have heard good things about these monitors, but found them on Amazon for $249 and if you have prime, shipping is free. So the M3-8's are $269.99 plus $23.50 shipping or $293.49 vs $249 at Amazon. I will wait as I want to actually hear these versus the Yamaha HS8 and the JBL 308s

BaddogThe cheapest I found these on any other website is... 249.99 M3-6, 499.98 pair 299.00 M3-8, 598.00 pair
While Massdrop has these for (Lowest drop point, +10/20 for current drop price) 233.49 M3-6, 453.73 pair 283.49 M3-8, 553.73 pair
Edit: Correction, 23.50 shipping for a single, 33.75 for pairs.

anybody with first hand experience able to comment on a comparison between the M3-8 and the JBL 308? The the sound customization of the M3-8 seems exceptionally more advanced then my JBL's.

RocketDogThese wouldn't be a great upgrade from the JBLs. They sound pretty much the same while not fixing some of the more noticeable "coloring" that the JBLs have. I would save up for HS8s, Genelecs, or a 3 way monitor.
Question regarding studio monitors... i understand they're great for studio purposes because of the flat and neutral response, but wouldnt the critical casual listener appreciate those qualities when listening to a recording as it was intended?

pimogoYes, but the title doesn't look as good saying "Three-Way Critical Casual Listener When Listening to a Recording as Intended and Studio Monitor".

pimogoThese are not the flatest studio monitors out there, and also have a very tweakeble rear eq so you can adjust them to your taste. A music listener will enjoy music played through them ☺
