For anyone curious I purchased the monoprice pleather memory foam pads and finally received them and here is the outcome. They are not an extremely tight fit but do fit fine and are much more comfortable than the stock pads to me. They are not as thick as the stocks but as you can see at least a three knuckle for size I'd say they are a replica of the HM5 pads but for no more than 16.99 from monoprice, they have velour option also but I would think those would not be great on a can that I use to isolate on trips, since they would leak too much sound both ways. I never thought I had big ears but the stocks make them basically on ears or I can cram my ear in there and it was not that comfortable to me, these my ears fit perfectly. If you want any other photo looks let me know.

Bob3600Not at all they just slide over the little edge takes a minute to swap the pads. Worth it if your ears hit inside of the current pads which mine did. These are also softer I found and are I think on sale right now on monoprice with free shipping. I am also interesting in trying the velours to see what sound signature they give.
