I have received mine a few days ago and have the following verdict:
1. Although the earphones have a tight fit (they do particularly well under a motorcycle helmet as they don't stick out beyond the earlobe), I personally find the fit very uncomfortable. I can only wear them for about 40 minutes before my ears start to hurt (normal wear in the house).
2. The cable is very stiff; in fact too stiff to do the over-the-ear bit as it immediately falls back over the ear and tends to want to drag the units with it.
3. The cushions are extremely hard to remove and put back on. I found it helpful to place the units on the window sill to warm up, otherwise I cannot get them off the unit.
4. I already had the microphone cover pop off. Luckily that happened in the house where I found the cover and was able to glue it back on. If that happened outside, I don't think I would have been that lucky.
5. The units are more heavy than I think I want them to be. Granted, they sit snug as long as the cable does not want to pull them out. Although I usually like things heavy, on this item, I would have preferred less weight
6. The injection molding is nicely done with lots of detail.
7. The sound is equal to my Bose headphones, if not even better
Despite the positive aspects of the unit, I would however not buy it again as it feels too uncomfortable compared to other earphones I have. Although sound is important, it does not have benefit if the earphones are too uncomfortable to wear or are of subpar quality to last. The first condition absolutely applies for me, whereas the second one remains to be seen. Considering the quality of the cable and the microphone cover popping off already, I am not impressed. I wish Macaw would spend less time and effort on their impressive packaging. I am wondering if the packaging is suppose to create the impression that one receives a superior product........
