I just received my order, and I have to say, I am impressed. The fit is fantastic, easily better than any other IEM that I've owned. Sound-wise, I can't tell the difference between this and the NuForce HEM8, which is my current daily. I'll need burn-in time, which I will start tomorrow during my daily commute, but so far, this has been an excellent buy. I mainly listen to hard rock/metal, haven't heard any hissing, and the v2 are very beefy.
This is what I own/owned:
Magaosi K5 NuForce HEM8 NuForce Primo8 Westone 4R (which are now broken) UE 900S 1MORE Quad Noble X Kinera H3 TFZ Series 5S Etymotic ER-4S FutureSonics Atrio m6 FutureSonics Atrio m5 BrainWavz S5 Westone TS1 Klipsch X4i Blue Ever 328R NVX IE2GR NVX IE3RC NVX IEWR2
NuForce EDC3 are arriving on Friday, and have on order Noble Luxe. I've been waivering on the Noble K10, but still can't justify the cost.

samelight100I'm not a basshead, so to me, the HEM8 was never weak bass. I want to hear all the details of each and every instrument without being drowned out by bass.

samelight100I can't really say since I've only had them for two days.. and of course, each person's ears are different.. I guess it depends on what type of music do you listen to? Are there any specific artists that you prefer. Based on what you prefer, and if I have them, I can try and listen to them through my K5 and see what are my thoughts.

UnderTheHillsomething like this: https://www.youtube.c
om/watch?v=1LcL49jw4vA for some IEMs the "Ph" and "S" sounds in the song ar so loud and sharp that it becomes unpleasant.

samelight100Great, so I tried that, and also a song that I know has lots of "s" sounds and with lots of instrumentals so I can tell whether or not the bass is too heavy and overwhelming. Hope this helps, but again, this is through my ears, so yours may hear it differently.
Noble X - no issues sharp tones overall, but there are times the "s" sound can be slightly harsh, bass comes through without overwhelming other instruments, lively and punchy
1MORE Quads - "sh" sounds are sharper, but not overwhelming, bass is a little muddled compared to Noble X
Magaosi K5 - "sh" and "s" sounds are much sharper, almost ear piercing at times, definitely not the one for you, bass is excellent though, can hear details of every instrument, lively and punchy
UE 900S - similar to the Noble X, but the "sh" and "s" sounds are gentler on the Noble X
Kinera H3 - "sh" sounds are similar to Noble X, but "s" is sharper, overall similar to 1MORE Quads
NuForce HEM8 - similar to Magasoi K5, overall, the "sh" and "s" sounds are not as sharp, but at higher volumes or when the vocals go up in decibels it is noticeable, but the Knowles drivers do shine overall
NuForce Primo8 - similar to HEM8, but the "sh" and "s" sounds are gentler, overall not as lively or punchy as the HEM8 overall, bass is more muddled on the Primo8, one note is I am not a fan of the cables on the Primo8, the memory part around the ears are more diffcult to mold around ears
NuForce EDC3 - I'm having a problem with the right ear, I'm hearing feedback when the vocalist ups the decibels on your vid, so will need to contact Massdrop on this. I don't hear the feedback on the other song I tried, but then, it has a lot of instruments and it's not acapella like your vid. Aside from that, the sound is similar Noble X, but still prefer Noble X.
TFZ Series 5S - no issues with "sh" nor "s" sounds, it remarkable sounds similar to the Noble X, the Noble X is livelier/punchier, but the "s" sound is also slightly more sharper than the TFZ 5S.

Therefore, surprisingly, I would have to recommend the TFZ 5S for you due to the sensitivity, but the Noble X is better overall if you aren't as sensitive to the "s" sound alone. Just keep in mind the bass is not as good as the Noble X.
If you are looking for BOTH nice bass that doesn't overwhelm other instruments yet not muddled, and where acapella vocals are don't have any sharpness, I don't think any of these would be what you are looking for.

samelight100These K5 are relatively bright sounding, so be careful. Vocals do sound nice and clear, but cymbals are VERY forward so it could be an issue if you're sensitive to sibilance due to the very nature of the cymbals sound.

UnderTheHillHow did your Westone 4R's break? Mine broke as well. Actually looking for a replacement for them because I liked their neutral sound. Any recommendations?

joshuawasMine happened when the clamshell separated, and two tiny wires separated from the drivers. They are so small there is no way to connect them back via soldering. I still have them, I need to check was it the left or right ear that broke. The clamshells on both ears actually separated about a year prior to the internal wiring break, but I was able to superglue them back together without any damage, but it didn't hold up.

UnderTheHillMy connector became really loose and the cable wouldn't stay connected to the IEM.

joshuawasThe cable that separated for me connects the 2-pin connector to the drivers. It started happening weeks before the full break because I could hear the music go in and out and I had to reconnect the cables, sometimes it would work, sometimes it didn't, until it fully separated.
I contacted Westone on this, they told me because it was a discontinued model, they can't repair it, and to just purchase one of their updated IEMs.
When something similar happened to my FutureSonics, where the cables frayed, they sent me a replacement pair for free, even though my pair was already out of warranty, and gave me their updated model. Too bad those cables frayed as well.. but it was their generosity that counted and I would purchase any of their equipment in a heartbeat.
The same goes for Etymotic, when I was having an issue with my ER4S way back when, they too replaced the bad IEM, and it was also out of warranty.
NuForce did the same as well, replaced my HEM8 when one ear went out (in-warranty) and MassDrop replaced my EDC3 recently when one ear was giving feedback.

UnderTheHillHow do you feel about the EDC3? In the past 6mo or so I've picked up Massdrop x MEE Audio Pinnacle PX IEMs Massdrop x NuForce EDC3 In-Ear Monitors Massdrop x NuForce EDC In-Ear Monitors Magaosi K5 IEM Ostry KC09 IEM SoundMAGIC E80S Creative Outlier Sports
I was surprised how shitty the EDC and EDC3 were. They sound identical and they sound like $5 buds. My favorites so far are the Magaosi K5 and the Ostry KC09.
The Outlier Sports are my favorites for workouts due to their heavy bass (which is what I like when working out) and their fantastic bluetooth connectivity. They are the only bluetooth buds I've used that never loose connection when my phone is in my pocket.
I should add I returned the Jaybird X3 because of their terrible bluetooth connectivity and overall poor audio quality.

techmattrWith my limited use of the EDC3, they are OK. Still prefer HEM8 or Noble X over them. I'm not a basshead and prefer to listen to detail, more analytical. The 1More Quads are also good. Not having the EDC, can't compare that to the EDC3, but the EDC3 did sound similar to the Primo8.
The K5 are the best fit out of all of them.
