Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. It works as a simple numpad, but none of the Fn-key stuff works except for the lighting.
For instance: • You can't type an "=" (equals) sign • Fn-Tab is supposed to type a "(" left bracket but instead types 40 • Fn-Del is supposed to type a ")" right bracket but instead types 14 • Fn-Num is supposed to type a "=" (equals) but instead types 16 • Fn-/ is supposed to type a "$" (dollar sign) but instead types 36 and so on and so forth - I'm not going to bother to list everything but none of the secondary functions of the keys work (except for the lighting controls).
Quite disappointing for a Mac user. Cannot recommend.
Good luck!
