makirulesMUCH cheaper, so much cheaper ($20? Really?) that Datamancer is probably screaming in frustration. But you can't copyright something that obvious, just their particular implementation of it.
A while back I think someone tried to put it on Taiwan's kickstarter, promising a "vintage" keyboard (i.e. typewriter-style keys) for a price that's like 1/10th of the Datamancer keyboards. But sharp-eyed folks realized what he did was he used the ACTUAL Datamancer keys (pulled from a real Datamancer keyboard) and slapped onto the cheap keyboard. In other words, the keys cost more than the keyboard and the guy is basically advertising something that's not possible. I think Datamancer eventually got the whole thing shut down? Didn't research it too closely, but that guy was using actual Datamancer keys. This... is merely a clone.
kschangYeah, this is really my question. Can I get these keycaps for this price? It would literally be cheaper to buy this board with these caps than wait and buy the ones from the link.
kschangI say much cheaper because if you factor in the cost of the actual keyboard here, the keycaps cant be that much in price compared to the datamancer ones. I do not mind this clone. The lack of gap between the modifiers and the other keys is actually nicer than the look of the datamancer keycaps (at least to me).
makirulesOh yeah, these have to be much cheaper. These have cheapish looking chrome plastic around the cap and the Datamancer one's are metal and they are re-legendable I believe.
