need joystick head version... only 7 people have purchased this drop, how could it be out already.
Just 3 purchased but no more joystick head version, why -,-
Although limited in certain features, this is actually a relatively cheap travel solution for mirrorless users. Personally used it on my Sony A7II FE35/Batis85 and have no complaints for my level of use.
This is dropping again, so prepare for the hoards of people posting links of it on other marketplace sites- as if were not adults capable of googling ourselves.

I am another one that tried this after buying it on amazon for cheaper and had to return it. Not sturdy and constantly tilting even with the lightest lens.

It works fine for small cameras, very good for the price. It doesn't have the very precise lockdown of the most expensive tripods, but when it is locked it's very secure. So, once I set it up, I have to do a couple of small adjustments to compensate for the imprecision, but once done it's perfect.
Well, B&H has it for $60 now...
I wish they made a video tripod in this size.

If I'm not mistaken that's the same tripod sold in canada by bestbuy for less than the exchange rate of 66 USD to CAD (not to mention the customs and additional shipping from Massdrop).
Not the first time massdrop deal has been awful for Canadians, not their fault given exchange rates and shipping. Just a heads up for Canadians
mass drop step up your game
it cheaper on amazon and i ships instantly

The group's order ended up arriving earlier to our warehouse in New Jersey and many of the individual packages have already shipped back out. We anticipate the remaining handful going out by the end of the week and we'll be sure to update the group again once we've confirmed complete shipment.
Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 4/22 or sooner if something comes up.

As an enthusiast photographer, I find these higher-end "compact" tripods to be a weird market segment...I keep trying these from time to time but keep running into the same problems...
1) They are not sturdy, balanced or convenient enough for any sort of legitimate enthusiast or amateur photography work due to the low payload weight and lack of features.
2) They work better with light weight entry level DSLR and lenses, but IMHO majority of such target market (i.e. convenience snapshot takers) would not be immediately aware or interested (or other accessories for that matter). And anyone starting out with intention to grow their skill would quickly realize limitation of this unit.
3) They work best with four-thirds size or PaS cameras, but at this point there are way cheaper and more-portable options. Rarely will someone be doing a frequent long exposure, night time, macro, portrait, etc type work with those cameras. I found this one from Mafrotto absolutely awesome for 1/3 cost. http://www.amazon.com/Manfrotto-MTPIXI-WH-PIXI-Tripod-White/dp/B00GUND8XM/ref=pd_bxgy_421_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=1V1CXN496FDJMHWV23KX.
That's just my $0.02. But I have not not tried every tripod out there, I have my own biases and at the end of the I am just an individual data point which in the grand scheme of things means nothing :)

I found that with the smaller Sirui ones (T-005KX and the carbon fiber variant). They are very nicely built but lack the height and very prone to shaking in the wind. If it's not a problem, then by all means use it but I use my camera for a lot of different things and I don't want to be gimped on that.

I bought the black standard version from B&H for $60, and promptly tossed my Benro that I paid $400 for. This Manfrotto isn't as sturdy, but I've found it to work fine with mirrorless cameras in wind less than ~10 mph. More wind or shaky surface, just hang a weight on it and you'd be good in most cases. I really like it - very handy, comes with the perfect bag...
I really hate to be *that* guy buy this is currently on Amazon for ~$70 and ~$61 for Action and Action Light models, respectively, with free shipping. No real benefit to the risk of tripod not fitting well into a person's system or intended use.

I bought one of these once, only to return it a couple hours later. The photo-movie selector works by dropping a pin into a slot around the equator of the ball to keep the camera horizontal while still allowing panning and tilting. It's a decent idea, but the execution was sloppy. The camera could still roll a few degrees either way when in video mode. Additionally, the machining was a bit rough on the ball. In general, it just wasn't up to the level of quality I had come to expect from Manfrotto. I guess you get what you pay for.
Would be really nice if we had the option to get this in black.

massdrop likely got the deal to sell overstock on the white model. there's likely a lot of extra units gathering dust on the shelves because for the same reasons you have - no one wants a white tripod.
