Gotta say for this price, I'd rather go for a lowepro 450 aw on sale. I got one for around 200 a while back and it blows this bag way out of the water.

Djghost1133You maybe aren't familiar with the brand? Manhattan Portage stuff is a lot more heavy duty than most other bags I've ever owned. The only ones I've seen which are more heavy duty are Porta-Brace. Lowepro is alright. Better than caselogic, But nothing really mindblowing. Also the bag you specify is basically a camera gear only bag. This Focus bag is more of a hybrid case with a smaller camera gear area, and the rest as general storage area. This suits some of us better than a camera only bag. I usually only carry a couple lenses. If I need to bring more I have lens cases. Finally, and this may be just me. But I won't buy a camera bag from a company that only makes camera bags. I know, crazy right? My logic is this. If I am carrying around a few thousand dollars worth of gear, I do not want to do so in a bag which alerts possible thieves by it's branding. This is why I skip over Porta-Brace, Lowepro and others that cater to the photography market. Manhattan Portage, Chrome and a few others make bags for messengers, commuters and photographers. So a camera bag from them will blend in more. Making me less anxious about walking around with $4000 worth of camera and $2000 of computer on my back. I'm in for the olive green. My Manhattan Portage bag from 8 years ago is getting a little dowdy looking from constant use. Though it could still carry a full load of SAE and metric sockets as well as open ended wrenches, if my back could bear the load. It just looks old and stained, and the laptop padding is not what it was when new 8 years ago.

Djghost1133Does that bag have the versatility to use as a regular backpack?

LefibonacciSadly it does not. The whole interior is modular but it is definitely not intended for books and such.

Djghost1133I see that the user above me already did an adequate job describing why maybe this is a better option for someone than the lowpro450 (: still cool that you attempted a suggestion though. Just two very different bags.

LefibonacciIts understandable. My suggestion was geared towards people who want a bag strickly for photography gear. For general use the manhattan portage should do fine.
