SolracI mean for this price from not a big company I wouldn’t really expect them to make their own, and certainly not a good one if they did

SolracGerman "Made in Germany" standard is very lax, you can put anything in the watch and put that inscription on the dial. One important part here: the final check of the product must be made in Germany. ;-) This is a nice designers watch anyway, with great and very solid movement and at a good price. I may get one.

SolracNot really sure what your point is here. Most German watches have Swiss movements and still say "made in Germany" without anyone complaining. Why would a "Made in Japan" movement make the "made in Germany" more or less true that if it were a Swiss ETA in it?

ColorBlindI do... I'll tell that in my prayers to my late British grandfather who was in the infantry then tanks during WWII, had a German knife go through his hand (if it wasn't for his reflexes it would have perforated his chest), but drove a BMW most of his life before he passed out. I'm amazed at how the younger generation thinks and can be judgmental about things they are totally clueless about, for not having lived/experienced them!

SolracHi @Solrac that is correct, we are based in Germany, where we assemble our products, but we are sourcing neutral for most of the components, as German movements are out of our price league (we don't intend to compete with Nomos, Glashuette & co). The cases and straps are from Germany, the Sapphire from Switzerland, the dial from Taiwan. This is the only way that we can sell at these prices. Thank you

WaldhoffDear Waldhoff (Nicholas), First - thanks for making your watches available to Massdrop. They look great to me and I wouldn't have found your brand without MD. I ordered the Multimatic in Imperial Gold color. I see you offer a deployment clasp as an accessory. Is that available in a gold color to match my watch? If not, will the steel clasp you offer fit the watch I ordered? What is the best way for me to get the clasp added to my order (if possible) Thanks in advance. Tom in Seattle

FauxtomHello Tom! Thanks for the compliment :) We do offer a deployment clasp and a 3-link steel bracelet as accessories, but they would have to be ordered and shipped separately from your Massdrop order. We send the goods in bulk to Massdrop without knowing the end receivers. You are welcome to contact us at info@manufaktur-waldhoff.de for more infos on this. Thank you, Nicolas

SolracWe are based in Germany, and assemble watches there, with parts coming from several countries, including Switzerland and Germany, which complies with German regulation on the label 'Made in Germany'. It's the same with your Mercedes, do you mind that it is assembled in the USA with Detroit parts? We are sourcing neutral with a slight bias for European parts, but we look for the best quality-price relationship, and making it entirely in Germany would raise the price tenfold. Cheers

DongyYes Sir. While we do not produce all parts in house (who does that in this price category?), we do the case engineering ourselves, plan all parts sourcing ourselves, assemble and test in our own small factory. We do not buy complete watches from third party manufacturers like 99% of other watch brands in our price category.

Alee.GYou are totally right about that. Considering the cost of labor in Germany and Switzerland, we would never be able to complete in this price category if we tried to do everything in house. Developing a movement alone would cost several million Euros. We simply look for the best quality-price components no matter the country, as we are sourcing neutral.
