What are the odds of this drop returning? Really would love a SS version of this.
Ordered two only got one. Also got a second padded envelope with the order for Jared Slattery inside. Nice knife. I will contact massdrop to send it to you!

That said this one is so cute!!! I hope they can get me the second one cuz It’s my favorite now for the standing and angled light feature!
whats the final cost with shipping and tax to New jersey anyone know?
I have the brass one and it's a great little floody edc. It works with the tail switch from the massdrop AAA light too, so if you're not a fan of the twist to turn on you can change it up. Wish they offered a CRI version

I like the tap the top on this one to cycle thru the modes! And then it lumes inside when off like a mini cyclops lol
This light is really cool, but the clip is not reversible. It would be great to be able to flip the clip and carry the light in your pocket without the bulb sticking out. However, the groove on the opposite end is cut too narrow to flip the clip. Kinda frustrating they didn't consider that in the design. What do you guys think?
219C 4000K ,SS,Ti,Cu,Br options.a must.
Copper and brass option is what I'm after!
JohnCannon
Ditto.
What was the final count sold, all 100?
And please add the tailcap button switch you had on your Massdrop AAA brass flashlight. I own the brass Maratac version of this light and screwed on the tailcap switch from your light and it worked! Now it is a fantastic combo!

The tailcap of the Maratac TPF also works on the brass AAA, so as twisty? Pictures? Come on Massdrop, give us this flashlight in copper / brass version!!

Really?!! I have both of these, going to give this a go! Thanks.
Oh yes, Nichia 219 Led AND COPPER!!
I was hoping for a Nichia 219 led option for better color rendition like your other AAA drops. Hopefully, next time.
Nice but I would love the AA version in Titanium...it's still a nice looking light and I've heard that there stuff is top quality
This would be fantastic with a nichia led. The form factor looks super useful for working with stuff, as an alternative to a headlight. Too bad it doesn't come with one.
would be all over this if it wasnt for the friction fit clip, which are universally terrible.
I have the copper version, it's my favorite flashlight. I can't believe how good the throw is. I'm only going to get lensed/magnified lights from now on. Off the balcony I can light up raccoons at the end of the yard 20 yards; it's still intense. It makes an old fashioned twenty foot wide search light circle. Very distinct. Compared to the Maratac Brass in line I got it is a million time better for everything. The flat lense brass style that sold recently it's fine for rooms and garage searching but no good outdoors past ten feet. The lens is great. If you want red or close up the lowest mode is super low light, it'll be fine for in-tent without waking others. Also the off the side makes it so you can set it upright on the grill and cast light on the steaks. Recommend keeping it separate from other EDC pocket stuff because uh, it's for looks, and the lense pokes out. Wrapped mine in microfiber cloth for double duty for the cloth. It is, as another reviewer said, more jewelry like: very amazing to look at and fondle and it has this old fashioned/new fashioned thing going.
I love my copper one. I have a headlamp band with a loop that fits this litte floody perfectly. Best light for shoveling/snow blowing at night, so very practical.
But Maratac makes these things like jewelry. I have titanium, stainless, anodized aluminum and brass lights from the best manufacturers. As torches I like a lot of them better than this one.
That said, this is by far the best conversation starter and gets a lot of headlamp use.
Would love to see the aluminum (black) model next time around. Thanks!
They have copper and brass versions now. I think this model looks awesome in brass.
Again with the side switch in the description. That is wrong as you can easily see. You turn the base to activate.
I like the light, but I feel that the lens is a little exposed since it is bulging out. I also would like a red filter to put on it for night use. Has anyone a solution for some protection or a filter holder?
jst1523
If you can get a drill &/or do some wood carving it probably wouldn't be too difficult/expensive to turn piece of wood into a small cap piece that would just pop over the top of the light & has a hole with a red gel filter over it. Make another without the gel and you've got protection for the lens. I'd imagine if you drilled the inner hole a little small & then slowly sanded it out you could get it to grip the top, or you could get an o-ring of some kind.
Or you could use some tape.

Any updates from admin regarding the slight confusion regarding the LED specs?
apertur
Hey @apertur and @BigGuy42 - Thanks for the callout, but the LED specs are correct as stated. The Cree G2 LED is higher output, delivering up to 20% more lumens per watt than the standard Cree XP-G LED.
We did add a note next to the video stating that the video is for the AA version, and not this AAA version. Hope that clarifies for others, so thank you for the call-out @Yamazaki .
I'm happy Massdrop drops these sort of products, making them accessible to non-US citizens as well. Couldn't find this flashlight anywhere else but on CountyComm. CountyComm unfortunately doesn't ship to The Netherlands though. Thanks MD!
Unfortunately,, some information listed isn't correct; there's a product video on the product's description page, but this video is for the AA version of this flashlight, not the AAA version.
This light seems to be mislabeled, for one the output seems rather high, and the LED listed does not exist. There is no such thing as a Cree G2.
Aww.. this was $32.55 about 2 weeks back on the CountyComm site, with an additional 10% off bringing it to $29.30 with free US shipping on orders over $50. This suggests the pricing of this drop could be *much* better.
The aluminum version is still on sale at $28.75. Same deal, use code cc10 on orders over $50 to bring down the price to $25.88. Aluminum is lighter and has better thermal conductivity vs SS. Because it's anodized you can switch the light on and off from both ends instead of just from the head. The finish probably won't look as pretty as the SS version after some time though.

FeebleOldMan
Thanks for the share, just ordered the anodized black version and the regular AAA anodized one for $51 shipped with that discount code. Much better offering there than they are doing here.
Shame that it doesnt have strong magnet integrated
What exactly makes this "tactical", other than using the word to try and sound cool? It's bright (shiny metal case), loud (all exposed metal) and puts out a bright white light (obvious and not night vision friendly).
Rochambeaux
Tactical describes it's use, not it's style
SteelUrMind
Again, how is "tactical" being used as a use? It's always meant in a "combat" or "hostile" type situation. None of the aspects of this light are beneficial in those situations, except that maybe it's durable.
I'd be all over this if it had a Nichia LED emitter, for a more natural color rendering...

From memory, 4200 or 4500. Gives accurate color rendering 👍
I have no problem with 5000k LEDs and sunlight like light and understand their utility. My brother-in-law just renovated an old building for his new dental office, and it's outfitted with 5000k, high quality LEDs for dental work all throughout, with no bluish tint. It's an impressive setup that shows the utility of "pure light".
It's the bluish tint of lesser quality LEDs that I find ugly when giving what I call the "cadaver effect" to everything...
