Somehow my prior post disappeared..... but here is the $20 folding technique: Think of "half" when you fold the bill A: $20 bill is about 6.0 inches LONG and 2.5 inches WIDE. For the purpose of this instruction, please use the convention of LONG/WIDE as explained above to keep track of the folding process
1. Fold the bill into half across its length so that it will be half its original length (about 3 inches) 2. Fold the bill again into half across its length (about 1.5 inches) 3. Again, fold the bill into half across its length (it should be now about 0.75 inches LONG & 2.5 inches WIDE; ref Step A). 4. Now, switch gears by folding the bill into half across its original WIDTH (which would half the width to about 1.25 inches) 5. You should now have a little rectangle that is about 0.75 LONG by 1.25 WIDE (....based on the orientation used in Step A) 6. Fold this rectangle across its 1.25 width to get a smaller rectangle about 0.75 x 0.75 (very, very approximate)
This next step is in preparation for the last fold: B. Identify the longer of the WIDTH or LENGTH Step 6 produced since using the longer side will make it easier to place the bill into the Pico Pull (PiPu) But, even if you pick a side randomly, the bill is going to fit into the PiPu
7. Last fold: Fold the bill across the dimension that you identified in Step B. Know that this fold will be relative difficult to make d/t the small size and thickness of the bill by now. Its like trying to fold a New York phone book. However, you don't need to make a totally flat fold; instead just create a fold that allows you to push the bill into the PiPu. Depending on which dimension you picked in Step B, there will be a small part of bill sticking out of the PiPu but that is really no concern since the top of the PiPu is dome shape and will accommodate the excess sticking out of the base.
Important tip: Its helpful although not essential to work w/a brand new bill (spraying a used one w/water and ironing it helps quite a bit though). However, what turned out to be an essential process is to ensure that each fold is as crisp as possible. After each fold, but especially w/the first 4 folds, I use a stiff ruler (but any metal object w/a sharp edge to it will work) to place pressure on the fold and after the fold is made trace back over it w/the edge of the ruler by applying a good amount of pressure. Without it, the folds will be sloppy and the folded bill is going to be much much larger than w/out it and the finished bill won't fit into the PiPu.
I meant to provide pictures but somehow my original post w/pictures got deleted, which I think may have been d/t the size associated w/the pictures. However, the above instructions should be sufficient enough to explain what needs to be done. Have fun origamiing the shit out of your money. D
