Length is stated at 12 ". Can you explain? I have large wrists.

Michael4yahThe length of the nylon strap, from end to end not counting the nato-style double backing on the 5-ring design, is 30cm, which is just less than 12" (its 11.8). I don't know what more explanation you are hoping for...
If you are trying to figure out how to measure your wrists, you can pick up a fabric tape measure like this: http://www.amazon.com/Innovation-Frontier-SE-MT9R-Measure/dp/B003V565B4 or use a piece of string wrapped around your wrist, then take the string and hold it up to a ruler to figure out the circumference of your wrist.
Based on where the notches visibly start on the band, as long as your wrist circumference is less than 10.25 inches (which is truly massive) you should be ok.
