If you’re looking for one of a kind, look no further than Martú. Every one of these leather belts is handmade—start to finish—by the atelier’s owner, Andrea, and no machine is used at any point Read More
I’m sorry to leave a negative review but I have to share this: while quality of the leather is good (not great) the buckle is just stupid: it rusted and ruined a pair of pants (the rust transferred to the pants). Since the buckle rusted it is basically not usable because it will end up ruining all of my pants. The result is I wasted the money on this belt and ruined a pair of 100€ chinos...
Still holding up to this day. I was surprised when the black one was larger than I had expected but its been a work horse and I love the way the buckle has developed a patina from usage.
I got the green belt, and it is amazing! Very nice and thick leather. Smooth out her finish that ages nicely. Only complaint is the orange stitching starts to loose its color after wearing a lot.
Strong but with a bit of flex. Very comfortable. Been wearing one for a couple of weeks and looks like it will last. The olive color is subdued as I had hoped.
I got the blue and the quality of the leather is superb. I loved the lighter blue suede style nap on the inside of the belt so much I wish it was reversible for when I want to be a bit more ostentacious. The blue is a nice, subtle splash of color to a casual outfit. The buckle seems a little plain to work well with anything more than a lower end business casual, anything with a blazer or a suit jacket would make this belt feel out of place, or even nicer dress shoes.
If you're a bit hesitant because Martu usually makes watch straps... don't be deterred.
The blue belt is gorgeous, with deep colour and a unique look. it has a wax-down leather type of feel to it. Get this belt.
The black belt is a bit plainer, and unfortunately, at least double the thickness of the blue belt. Out of the box, my black belt had a chunk of leather damage on the back side. It's a struggle to fit through most belt loops too.
Overall really happy with the leather quality and the price. I'm a bit bummed about the damage on the black belt, but I'll be buying again if Martu comes up with more designs.
It is even better than I thought it would be. I like a pattern of a handmade product and man is it THICK!!! It's not a suit belt, it's a workhorse which I will gladly wear with my jeans. It looks so robust I don't think anything can happen to it in a lifetime.
Bought two, blue and green, and QC is pretty bad. The green one is less than half the thickness of the blue belt. Though the green one is thinner, it was finished a lot better than the blue one. The blue one was rough and uneven on the underside.
Bought one in black and one in blue. Both are good looking belts, but the blue is especially handsome with an almost marbled pattern. Fit and finish could be a hint better, but these being hand-made items I think it just adds to the character. The black one is a THICK strip of leather; almost double the size of the blue. I expect to get some good wear out of both!
Update: Black belt is so large it will NOT fit into smaller belt loops on some dress pants. Fit into Dockers loops no problem.
