Umm so I don't know why you would buy this. Villains expands Marvel Legendary, not Encounters, and I've heard that Villains is the weakest standalone box of the three. It's true that you can kind of combine them, but not fully -- you can only add the characters and/or a few enemies from Marvel into an Encounters game, which is a kind of cool quirk, but more of a bonus for those who happen to own both.
Encounters is the superior game (multiple mechanical changes, most notably new enemies coming out face down), and Predator expansions have been confirmed, they're just not out yet. My advice is to skip this bundle unless you already own Marvel Legendary, love it, and think you have room for another similar but different game about Alien. Otherwise just get Encounters and wait for proper expansions. I'm pretty sure that most customers would be disappointed with this drop once they figure out that the boxes don't really go together.

AldreneanVillains is a standalone.
Both of these are standalone.
Both can be played together and thematically (and a bit more mechanically) Villains combines with the regular legendary but technically this is just a pair of standalones.
My guess would be shipping reasons.
They've had a Legendary bundle up before with just the hero version and its expansions.
This just looks like a way to round out your collection.
