kenstogieN690 is an Austrian steel made exclusively by Bohler. I don't own any knives made with it but its reputation is good; most of the "experts" note it as being nearly in the class of VG-10 steel.
Maserin as a whole is fairly well regarded. This one, like many they make, is a "gentlemen's" knife for small cutting tasks, and not an everyday beater. I have an Atti 389 and it's a lovely, well-made knife. However, the only thing I don't like about it, and this Maserin appears to have the same design, is that when the knife is closed the back edge of the blade just as you get to the tang has a pretty sharp right-angled edge where it engages the liner lock. Not cutting edge sharp, but enough of a point where I see it eventually wearing a hole in whatever pocket you carry it in. You can see what I'm talking about in the sixth photo on the description page of this drop, the one showing the folded knife on top of the carry pouch. I'm tempted to soften the edge a bit on a grinder but don't want to take a chance on compromising the security of the locking mechanism.
Anyway, my 2 cents, for what it's worth. Cheers!

JTrubsI did notice the 90 degree but it's good you pointed it out and go over your experience..... I wouldn't have thought itd wear hole in you pocket but did think it could be darn uncomfortable.
