so i should be getting mine tomorrow. had this been sent with USPS i would have got it Saturday. Thanks obama. 8/15
Edit 8/16: got it today. This knife is awesome. very smooth, very sharp, looks like its already lubed up with possibly grease (havent opened it i dunno for sure, but i see some coming from the pivot onto the blade). the knife is very heavy, those stainless steel liners are nasty. wish it was titanium. the back of the handle is heavier than the blade end. The blade looks really small vs the handle too. im guessing there is ALOT of markup in the price of this knife, but overall i like it, and for the price massdrop offered, it was worth the wait.
ohh another thing... the titanium in the carbon fiber sticks out a bit, they have included some paperwork that describes the included 400 grit sandpaper is used to sand those small area's down so they dont prick your hand. note that carbon fiber dust is bad for human lungs and skin, please use gloves and a dust mask *SERIOUSLY*. apply a small amount of water onto a cloth of some sorts and wipe the scales clean after finishing with the sand paper.
it seems light switch flipping works good only if you give it a fair amount of pressure. however push button works a lot better... but your results may vary. if i dont give it enough pressure either way it just fails short of fully opening. but when it opens its so nice because is so smooth.
another thing to mention is that N690 does not resist corrosion (its better than 440C). dont get water inside the knife, you will have to take it apart to dry it, or it will cause rusting, pitting, corrosion. apply mineral oil or "fluid film" (google it, its lanolin oil based, and food safe. its the nature oil from wool (some may be allergic to this)) to the blade every 60 days or so (the amount of times you replace the oil will very person to person). if you can take apart knives apply it to the whole blade once apart to protect the inside that you dont see, from corrosion. if it doesnt see water or high humidity you should be fine tho.
for the titanium carbon fiber version keep the sand paper handy for a while. ive been flipping it for an hour or so and ive had to sand down the titanium a bit. only a few swipes are needed with light pressure. i think its good now, but only time will tell.
for the price mass drop offered id buy it again if they do another drop on it for this price + or - $10 max. if it were titanium liners id gladly pay more, to bad they are not.
