Named for the adroit hunter and king of Shinar, the Maserin Nimrod is an imposing all-around folder. The blade is a 3.5-inch drop-point made from Bohler M390 stainless steel, arguably the best commercial steel on the market. Tumbled to a stonewashed finish, the blade complements the handle, whether micarta, G-10, or carbon fiber. A lockback provides the folder’s backbone, creating a secure feeling in the hand, even when the going gets rough. Another win for security’s sake is the finger choil in the handle scales, which makes a perfect place for an index finger. Though the knife is nearly 9 inches overall, it carries discreetly thanks to the deep-carry pocket clip. Flanking the clip is a glassbreaker for emergencies.
Note: At checkout, choose desert micarta, green micarta, black G-10, or carbon fiber (+ $10).
