Does this spring open? Would it count as a "Switchblade" in a state that outlaws switchblades? Namely Minnesota?
donatj
The opening is unassisted.
Is it 440 or 440c? Still seems way overpriced...
I guess I am kind of interested. Anyone want to sell me on this one? Because $80 is kind of a lot for 440.
Why does the spine of knife look stained in pic #4?

Are you referring to the oil?

Couldn’t wipe the excess off before the pics? Sloppy
I have one of these, very nice knife. Good size for EDC. Hard (for me, near impossible) to quickly open one-handed, but it's a nice switch from most others out there
If anyone missed this drop and would have liked the Bocote wood version, PM me. I received mine, and although it's a beautiful piece of work, it turned out to be a bit too large for a comfortable carry for me. I prefer small-ish knives and I forgot to look at the overall length on this one.
" Somewhere between a gentleman’s folder and a tactical knife" Not really seeing anything tactical about it, not even the usual tactical=black.
What's the yellow stuff on the blade? You can see it really well in the fourth picture. It shows up on different pictures and review videos, so I don't think it's because of the camera used, or a reflection.

It's probably grease or oil to make the opening smoother.
Raine342
Definitely oil to lubricate the action.
I received the Trigger today. Open and closed it a few times and now it is locked in the open position. Pressing down on the trigger does nothing. Any ideas...I do not want to send it back unless I have to . If I do, what in the process.
That pocket clip doesn't look like it matches the knife.

that's exactly what i was thinking.... spare parts left over?
nice looking knife otherwise...

Spare parts! That's it!!
oh man, would have been an immediate purchase if it were assisted-opening. What a beautiful knife!

An excellent suggestion--in fact, a blackwash leek is my EDC :)

HA, great minds :-) I made a "Franken-Leek" with g10 handles and a Damascus blade. My Nephew carries it daily. Great little knives.

Fuckin' 440 steal for this price. What the fuck.

Came here to say this. It looks cool, but I wouldn't pay this price for such a pedestrian steel. Maybe I'm spoiled by all the S35VN knives in this price range, but I think having a good steel really is important.
Not necessarily. You ever try Entrek knives? It is possible to get a lot out of 440C. And it’s possible to mess up a ‘supersteel’.
This is a nice looking gentleman's knife.

Agreed! Lot's of great product still to come from Maserin.
