Like my other “Tools”, this one does not disappoint. It is by far my favorite aesthetically, the color stands fast and has no sign of wear. The Nichia 219 has excellent tint and for such a small light it produces a lot of light and has a good runtime. If I need the maximum light and runtime, I use the Energizer Lithium Primary. For the most economical I use Eneloops NIMH rechargeable.

Bought 2, one for my wife. This is nicely made easy to operate and much brighter than I expected. Wide throw lense for such a small light. Purchased the Cree White LED. Also fairly small, the pics don’t give it good reference to everyday objects - roughly the length of a car or house key. Be sure to install the AAA battery with positive towards the front/lense negative on spring. If not - as mentioned the reverse polarity will heat up the light quickly.

Beautiful little light. Love it.

To date I have had 3 variations of this light (both in Ti and the current brass) and I like this To one the best just by pure luck of the draw I think. Even after my battery mishap two weeks later this light works like champ! I have one main complaint, I wish the lower mode was more of a sub-lumen "moonlight" mode but overall this is a great light if you are into small and cheap. I absolutely love the feel of the button and the ease of which it can be turned on and off. I have never had an accidental activation as I've heard others complain of buy I do not carry it in a pocket with any other items that might inadvertently hit the button. You don't want it to come on, then take some precautions but I think it is worth it for satisfaction and ease of use. After owning a limited run titanium Lumintop CPF special edition from a few years ago, I purchased both this blue Ti version and the other brass version here on Massdrop in Jan 2019. I think the clips are cheap and REALLY wish they wouldn't come pre-installed so they would not scratch the light when removed. I would like the option to install the cheap shitty clip if I chose to do so (no thanks!..) One note on durability about this light, I accidentally installed a white Sanyo Eneloop backwards into the blue Ti version of the light and sat it down for a couple minutes. I started smelling something burnt and picked it up and it was HOT! I quickly pulled out the battery and cooled everything down. The spring in the tail had gotten so hot that it deformed and lost it's shape to the point where the battery would just slide around inside the light. I pulled on the spring to bend it back outwards and after that the light worked! Reverse polarity protection is most likely not easy to do in such a small light but I'm glad I didn't kill my brand new $35 light on the first day. Comparatively the brass has a better tint even though they are both Nichia, I suppose that is just the tint lottery at work here? Great light for the price though, if I had to choose between the brass and this Ti version, and could only buy one of them I think I would go with the brass one. With the brass I like that I have the option to take the head off and swap batteries, with the Ti one it only comes apart at the tail switch but I do appreciate the added lightness. I have used both AAA Eneloops white cells and black Eneloop Pro batteries in these lights. I just did a run test on high between the blue Ti version and the brass. The brass beat out the Ti for some reason but only by a few minutes and on high they did run for the full claimed half hour although it was noticeably dimmer at the end. I'm unsure if it is damaging to the light to run on high unattended and they do get fairly hot after about 5-10 minutes but not burning my hand hot just slightly uncomfortable if I grab the light after leaving it in open air on a table. If I was to hand hold these lights I'm sure my clammy, fleshy meat-fist would wick away the heat no problem. Thank you massdrop! Solid value for these lights I will probably buy more.

A great product with a minor shortcoming that can be a deal-breaker for some.

Positives The blue and bronze combination looks great. The size is perfect for pocket carry, keeping in a car compartment, throwing in a laptop bag, pretty much anywhere. Titanium case and 1 AAA battery make it a light carry. I got the Nichia version and although it's less powerful, it fits my needs well. Overall, it's almost perfect... Negatives The one thing that needs improvement is the switch. As others have mentioned, it can get easily triggered in the pocket or a cluttered bag. I've already drained a couple of batteries when the light got turned by accident in the pocket. The switch needs more push resistance, or a deeper depression to activate. Many also mentioned that the switch fails after only a few uses. Mine is still working after at least a couple of hundred clicks, so perhaps the quality issue has been resolved. Overall A great flashlight that I'd rate 5 stars if it weren't for the switch triggering issue and questions about its longevity.

This review is after using and carrying this flashlight for 48 hours. My unit has a great finish and feel. Definitely small enough that when it's in my pocket I can't feel it at all. I have not accidentally hit the switch at all. The switch did take about 10-15 seconds before it started working. The only thing that would potentially be an issue would be the clip which is not made of titanium. I had used it extensively for about 5 minutes and it did get a little warm but not a problem. I love the color and finish of this flashlight. I set it up on my desk and stare at it like a piece of art

Stopped working after a few weeks.

Purchased for a christmas gift for my dad, he really seems to love it. It's much lighter than my brass massdrop AAA, and he loves the blue color with the brass ring in the front. If the batterylife is anywhere near as good as mine, he'll be thrilled. It took him a bit of time to get used to the multiple presses to change the different modes, but it's not a problem now. Unlike me, he kept his pocket clip on and has it riding high in his pocket.

It's a bit annoying to have to push the button five times to get max mode, and the button doesn't have a nice solid feel to it like Led Lensers BUT other than that I'm very happy with it and will be buying at least one more for myself and probably some as gifts. It's so compact and lightweight you hardly notice it and it's powerful enough to be useful for most tasks.

This is a quality little light. I was surprised at its brightness. The machining on mine is very good. Not quite excellent--it could be just a little smoother. But for the price, it's more than I expected. Plus, the slightly rougher texture is good for handling and grip.
Verified Purchaser
The machining appears to be unfinished on my light. There are several sharp burs on the checkering, and it looks like my light has already been used on a key-ring, despite not actually even coming with a keyring in the box as is indicated. Additionally, the corners around the keyring loop are EXTREMELY sharp, like opens-packages sharp. Quality is nothing like the Brass version purchased previously, quite disappointing considering I paid more for this light, and it's half-as well machined, despite material cost differences.

Yep, I share your sentiment and found the brass to be smoothly finished while the rough edges on the blue ti have ripped up my fingers. Also my tail switch is not as responsive nor solid feeling. Bummer because this could have been 5-star.

This is a fantastic flashlight, probably the best I own in this size range. It is brighter than the free LED flashlights I sometimes receive from chemical supply companies at work, brighter than my Eddie Bauer flashlight/lantern I use around the house, and seems to be as bright as my Black Diamond Spot. I'm not an EDC hobbyist, so I do not own a bunch of similar lights for comparison. But with this purchase I don't think I need to buy another small flashlight until the bulb fails. I keep the Massdrop flashlight in my work backpack so I can have it around the house and work. I love the clip as well. I don't walk around with it clipped to my pants, but you can definitely replace a headlamp for camping trips as long as you enjoy wearing hats at night. Could not recommend this any higher, and it is a great Christmas gift.

To bad that I had to pay it Twice!!! Ones to you guys and then the same price to customs... for the rest super little thing that does what it suppose to do.

I live in Belgium and sinds there is a trade dispute with Europe on aluminum and other metals we the costumers get punished for it....

It just seems madness for customs to be stopping everything at the border and collecting customs. In Australia they're supposed to, but it's an impossible job given the number of customs officers so it's very rare for my packages to get stopped and import charged.

Great little light. It was almost an impulse purchase at first, simply because I was interested in trying out the tail switch as opposed to the body twist I was currently carrying. And.......that Blue!!!! But was even more impressed by the weight. Was a great addition. Though all that being said, I like my lights and knives. So before long I was lured away by a little brass number with a side switch. I'm weak, very very weak. I've been bouncing between the two. Although the side clicky had an inherent flaw, of being easily turned on by other pocket contents. Aaaannnnnndddddd, now waiting for the delivery of a copper tail click. Uh yeah....I have problems. That Blue though....am I right? 😁🙈

Middle of the road light. I purchased it primarily because of the unique color (anodized blue). Not particularly bright, can’t use a 10440 to ramp up the light, aaa only. Maratac, thrunite and a number of other brands, you can modify by using a 10440 (even though they don;t recommend it. Overal, mediocre.

I like everything about it with the exception of a couple minor things. 1) It's on my keychain so it's going to get smushed against other items all the time. Because of this, I had some accidental turn ons while the light was in my pocket. I had to make a ring of plastic from some I had on hand, to raise the outside edge around the switch, therefore preventing any accidental activations. I did that within the first week of getting my first one of these (I got two since they are so awesome) and I've not had one single accidental activation since then, which was several months ago. Mine's all scratched up from being on my keychain (see photo) all these months but I don't care since it's a tool just like all my other EDC. 2) I wish there was a moonlight mode. Low is a bit bright for those times when you're in a dark environment and don't want to disturb anyone else, like in a movie theater. In that case, I would have to grab one of my other main

EDC lights (both Zebralight) and use it since they both have a true moonlight mode as a sublevel of mode 1.

Mine was gold which I didn't really care for, either but I just put it on my keychain and most of the color wore off over the last few months but it's still sort of gold. The lighting in the photo probably makes it appear like stainless. Actually, I just looked at the above photos and you can clearly see the gold in the cutouts of the clip. The accent ring that was gold on the light is worn and mostly silver now.

This flashlight is beautiful and very well built. I love Titanium for being strong and lightweight! For the size it gets pretty bright. Water resistance is also a super useful feature to have! The rear button feels a little lose, but works just fine.

Beautiful light. Anyone know if the head is removable/LED accessible?

While the workmanship can’t be beat, the light output is less than stellar. I have an older model and it’s at least 2x as bright. Same Cree chip. Streamlight micro is a better alternative.

Anyone else not able to turn their's on. I ordered a while back but finally opened mine. I've tried multiple different batteries with no luck
dppp
The instructions say the light has a compacitor that has to charge up before the light will work. It can take up to a min or 2. Just leave the battery in it for a little while and it should turn on.
