I'm seriously considering getting this, but, my knowledge about current switches is limited. I know that the only switches that I've found in the past that I truly enjoy are the Cherry MX Reds. With this in mind, what switches should I be getting with this board?

MinisterPhobiaDepends what you are doing with them. Pure gaming is generally best with reds. In between you have browns and blue is known to be good for a lot of typing. The other ones I am not too sure about.

MinisterPhobiaThe only linears available on this drop are the speed silver, but they are a little heavier than cherry reds, and they have a shorter actuation. Have you ever tried something different than cherry reds? And in that case what was that you didn't like?

MinisterPhobiaI have used Reds in the past on a number of boards, but in my opinion they are too scratchy and ultimately there are much better linear switches out there.
I have personally switched to Kaihua Speed Silvers in a couple of recent builds, and again in my opinion I think they are in a different class when compared to MX Reds. Super fast response and an almost friction-less key press feel which I have not found is as consistent in boards I have owned with MX Reds in.
I also took the slightly unnecessary step to lube them which made them insanely smooth, but even without this I thought they were far better feeling then Reds out of the box.
If you are looking to get this board for gaming first I think from the list of options the Kaihua Speed Silvers are the obvious choice. However I would say if you want to type a lot on the board, you may want to consider a more tactile or even clicky switch, as speed silvers are insanely easy to actuate, and it is easy to make mistakes/have other key strokes register when typing fast. Although that might just be me and my clumsy hands haha!
And hey with the hotswap nature of the board, if you don't like them swap them out for MX Reds later!

MinisterPhobiayour closest choice would be speed silver as they are the only linear from the list.

ToselI've tried blacks, blues, and one other that I can't remember. In the case of the blues, they were too hard to press down on. I don't remember why I didn't like the blacks, just that I didn't. Reds are the only ones that I've ever enjoyed typing on.
After some responses and a great deal (almost a full hour!) of research, I settled on the Speed Silvers. They seem to be, of the options available, the most similar to the reds.
Here's hoping I chose wisely.

bebetoThanks, I ended up deciding that on my own, but, it's good to know that others feel that this is the right choice for me as well.

MinisterPhobiaThen if you go for speed silver you won't go wrong, but in my opinion not perfect either. I tried both speed silver and box red, and in my opinion the second ones are a little nicer, at least if you don't need actuation up on top of the keystroke. I like lighter switches too, and I remember box red to be lighter and smoother. Another option would be box white, lighter than cherry blue, with only a small tactile bump, but sharp, and with a nice sond too. If I were you I would buy the board with box white, and some box red somewhere else, so that you have two sets with a different feel. The strength of this board is really the possibility to easily swap switches!
