Hey all -
Thanks for helping make the CTRL a huge success!
Per Yanbo’s original note, this drop will re-open on April 5th for a limited time this month. The keyboards in this drop will be part of the same production run, will ship st the same time as the previous drop and will not impact ship time, and will be eligible for first production perks.
bradrFor a second I thought I would be able to get it shipped on July (I will be in the US for a few weeks in July only) :(
Maybe I will get it imported some day...
bradrIt would be nice, for all of us outside USA (or people who need to type in other languages) if you could support an ISO version of the keyboard. I really like this keyboard but i need Scandinavian version, ISO 88.
bradr@YanboWu i was part of the first drop, but it looks like these are part of the same production run. I felt like i got a canned response from support, but is there anyway to change the switches i chose??
bradrThanks, just wanted to ask one more question. Did your team receive any samples from production or sample run? how is the Quality Control being handled. This keyboard is $200 which is a good price, however most of the community members like me are not in the USA and we end up paying hefty custom fees and charges.
Please keep us posted. :)
p.s. this note/message was typed from Beautiful K-Type!!!
MoronismurfOn ISO layouts we don't have dedicated keys for our modifiers like on ANSI keyboards. The only real difference in the layouts is the split left shift, the big Enter button and a dedicated key for the * ' symbols. Instead of having a big Enter button, the Ansi layout has a 1.75u key above the Enter key - on a Norwegian layout, that key becomes the *' symbol. So, you have all the keys you need by default, except the <> key which would be the left shift split button on an ISO board.
Now, please excuse the bad picture - Also, this board is new and I don't have compatible keycaps for it yet so it's kinda jumbled, but you get the idea I hope. Also, I use the | \ key as backspace. My mousepad is probably NSFW.
danefairbanksDid you ever get a response about this? I also got the canned response which makes sense in most cases, but since this is still in production, I feel like it should be possible to change the switches.
danefairbanksHey @danefairbanks and @chrisljiang - Sorry to hear that our current process for production and shipping didn't fit your needs here. It can be difficult to make changes after orders have been placed or things have started being made, and our systems aren't always setup to allow for these changes after drops end - even if they're in the same production run. I'll pass along the feedback to the team to make sure they know that multiple people would like to have this option.
