This is my first big mechanical keyboard purchase, super excited. However the design of the keycaps slightly bothers me. I would prefer if all the modifier/action keys were all capitalized text. So for example "CTRL" instead of "Ctrl" (which is literally the name of the keyboard lol), maybe "META" instead of the old windows logo, and same thing with SHIFT, CAPS LOCK, TAB, MENU, HOME, PG UP, etc. I can also see from the comments that others like the keycaps the way they already are, so maybe I have a unique opinion...

ShizeMationOne of the greatest thing about owning a mechanical keyboard (aside from custom layouts) is the ability to change the keycaps to anything you want. Massdrop constantly has great sets avalible many of them with the exact specifications you are looking for! Welcome to your new obsession!

rootduckOf course I know that I can change the keycaps XD. The problem is that I still want the keys to be shine-through. And there isn't any shine-through keycaps with the specifications that I described above :(. As far as I've researched, all shine-through keycaps that are available have very awkward labeling/colors IMHO. The keycaps that come with the CTRL have the perfect coloration, there's just a few keys where I hope they could make some changes.
Also, in regards to obsession (which is a big problem because I'm a university student on a tight budget XD), the reason I chose the CTRL is that it can be flexible and durable enough to last for a lifetime, so I basically don't need to buy anything else for a loooong time. Problem fixed!

How do you do per-key RGB lighting on a Shift V2?

I saw the online configurator that lets you do this on the Shift V1, where it spits out a compiled firmware file to flash. The V2 doesn't seem to have this function in the Windows configurator, though. I can't imagine the answer here is "you're going to have to manually write the hex for every key in QMK, compile it, and flash that".
