Jason Brous is known for pushing the boundaries of knife design, and his latest creation is no exception. After over 2 years in the works, the Raven made its premier at the 2016 Blade Show in Atlanta, and we’re excited to announce that it's back for another run here on Massdrop. The Raven’s 4.2-inch blade, which is made from D2 tool steel, looks like something out of a sci-fi flick. It features a rib running perpendicular to the spine—a throwback to the days when weaker steels were forged into longer, thinner blades and required extra reinforcement. The blade is deployed with the flipper, which is positioned high atop the handle to create an emphatic rotation to the open position when pressed.
Note: This drop is limited to 8 units. Each piece is marked with its own serial number. Due to the sensitive nature of shipping knives internationally, we are able to ship only some of the knives on Massdrop to select countries. It is the responsibility of the buyer to know and comply with all importation regulations and local laws. Click here for additional information.
The Raven’s titanium handle is shaped with an aggressive curve to support multiple grip positions. Thanks to the handle’s tapered shape, the pinky actually touches the palm when held with a standard grip, creating a natural feel in the hand. For detail work, choke up on the handle and place your index finger on the choil for more precision. The blade spine is designed with a distinct convex curve for thumb placement and added control. A slim, deep-carry pocket clip is made for right-handed tip-up users.
After spending his early life learning the ins and outs of CNC machining from his father, Jason Brous began a career designing high-performance knives. Inspired by biomechanical art—a surrealist style of art that combines robotics, ergonomics, and the organic qualities of nature—Brous Blades are built on a process of continual improvement and determination to craft nothing but the best cutlery on the market.
