hassanuzI have not tried this, but I can on the weekend.
Thank goodness we made the cable shorter.
(T50RP were mostly used in pro audio for years and have an even longer cable stock.)
hassanuzNooooooo!!! Not at all the original version of these headphones were known to be difficult to drive. These are planar headphones, they take a lot of juice to power them correctly. The headphone jack in a PS4 controller would not do l, these need a dedicated amplifier to run at its full potential.
hassanuzVery unlikely.... These a harder to drive than most headphone and really should be powered from a desktop AMP.
I can listen to my MK II and MK IIIs on portable device bust the volume is a bit lacking and they lose a lot of their dynamics and punch.
hassanuz"What, do you think you are going to grow up and get paid to play video games or something?"
"Erm, yeah, Ma. Maybe." :)

So, it doesn't get super loud and the bass is emphasized over the higher frequency locational cues, but this combo worked for me on the PS4 playing Black Ops 3. It'll work for casual gaming. (No microphone.)
Also: The cable wasn't as heavy as I thought it might be, but my 1/4" to 3.5mm adapter cable sticks out a bit due to the strain relief. Not sure how close you like to hold your controller to your body while playing, this adapter from Grado lightly brushes up against my lower chest at natural playing position.
