I feel like my oppinion of these is way off from what everyone says. I feel like the low end is almost non existent. I haven't had a chance to run them through a real powerful Solid state or tube amp only my Bravo Audio Ocean. Which when i start to reach my cofortable enjoyable listening levels i start to encounter that natural tube break up. Don't get me wrong they can reproduce low end but not at the levels that I find to be enjoyable. I have a lot of time listening to Audio Technica ATH A700x and they are able to produce more enjoyable bass but still not at a level that I want. I am really looking for a set of cans that have the accuracy of the AT's the Mids of the T-X0's and the lows of to be determined. Does anyone have any reccomendations? Maybe I just need more power? I know Planars like power do you think they will deliver that deep driving it home bass that I'm looking for?

15gtrobAre you getting a good seal around your ears? Unless your pair is completely different from mine, you should be getting oodles of bass, especially if you are comparing them to Audio Technicas. With these, any venting around your ears will destroy the bass completely.
I will say that I've never had good experiences with T50RP and tube amps--they tend to have a really high output impedance, which works better with high impedance headphones than ones with low impedance and a lot of power demands. These really should sound like what you're hoping for--I wouldn't give up quite yet.

joelpearceThe amp says it’s good for up to 300 Ohm but from what I read planar do better on solid state. I find the Fostex to be very loose on my head and will easily fall off if I lean forward to pet my dog or lean back in my office chair. May just try throwing a headband over the entire rig to hold them in place. I’ll play with the seal around my ears Also saw some people spinning the ear cups so I may mark them and try adjusting.

15gtrobI suspect that might make a big difference. If I pull the bottoms of mine out even a few millimeters, I instantly lose all the bass and sound quality.
Something else that makes a difference is where the top band is sitting--tilting them forwards or back can get you a better seal.

15gtrobThese do great bass when they're amped properly, you need a powerful solid state amp 1w into 50ohms minimum..
