First impressions review! Just running off a scarlett 2i4
1. Comfort
Damn, these things feel good, and despite being heavier than my other circum-aural's, I feel like I'm going to get less hot and scratchy, clamp pressure is nice and light, a relief with my giant head and weight distribution makes me feel like i'm wearing nothing at all... nothing at all...
2. Sound (no burn in)
Dark, moody and warm. Soundstage isn't that expansive, but everything is placed perfectly, like a small intimate all acoustic gig. Vocals on these are nothing short of spectacular, male and female, always real and standing 10 feet in front of you. Negatives? possibly a bit too dark sounding, the mids and treble aren't lacking, just nicely balanced and the bottom end isn't sloppy, just a bit overbearing at times.
3. Aesthetics & Build
5 shades of Black and dark leather, industrious and sleek. Can't say I'm that enthused about the cable that comes with it or the stupid lock thing massively limiting what 3rd party cables will slide in far enough, i also worry that I'm going to spear one of the ear wire loops with my finger one day when taking them off and do some damage, time will tell.
4. Value
I'll be using these over k701's, mdr 1r and hd 650's at home, but they will probably never go on any adventures due to their bulk and amp needs. Definitely a great purchase if you're after your first pair of quality headphones or looking to add to your collection, sound great and are pretty quirky!
