Has anyone sent these out to Mod House for the Argon mod yet?

c0ldI wish I knew, but I emailed them asking what the benefits are and I'm pretty sure no one has sent him a pair. I might be the test dummy lol. What they claim to do is massively expand the soundstage and give it a more true to planar sub punch.

jm090Well if the mods are adding padding, the T-X0 already has that. So that's why I am curious what exactly do they do they mod?

c0ldIt seems like Mod House audio also changed some of the material and added some damping around the driver, to have that planar bass.

jm090 I just got mine back from Mod House. I wouldn't say that soundstage is massively expanded, but they sound noticeably better. Something was wonky about the sound on the stock T-XO (I'm not that technical a listener, sorry) and whatever that was, is alleviated now. And the bass is indeed good.

kukkurovacaUpdate after some more listening: oddly enough, I'm a bit more enthusiastic about the soundstage after putting the stock pads back on in place of the ZMF pads which I ordered with the Argon mod. The ZMF pads are very comfy, but I think that the reflection of sound off the pads themselves gives the soundstage a bit of a "listening through paper towel roll tube" quality.
The stock pads w/fenestrated inner surface spread the soundstage out a bit more, which helps, although they definitely aren't as nice as the ZMF pads in any other respect. So maybe the new fenestrated ZMF pads would be the best pad choice for the Argon.

jm090Definitely worth it to me. It's a marked improvement over the stock T-X0.
If I were starting the whole process over again, I'd tell myself to skip the T-X0 and just get one of the new Mark III Argons, lol.

kukkurovacaI ordered the perforated Ori pads in the ZMF pad drop and just received them. My initial impression is that they do exactly what I wanted for the soundstage. Modhouse should definitely offer the perforated pads as an option for the new Argons.

kukkurovacainteresting, although i prefer non-perforated pads personally. i think the bass tradeoff is too much usually.
