1Will1Why would you buy a 1000€ camera when your phone can do pictures, why pay 500€ for a chair when you can get i one for 10. Confort, customization, originality.....take your pick

1Will1If you check r/mechanicalkeyboards and you still don't know why someone would pay more than $140 (which most people pay well over double/triple that for a single keyboard) then this may not be the right place for you.

1Will1I highly suggest that you research, and try before buying. How big a kb do you want?programmable? (useful if you're a programmer or a gamer), do you need the keypad? what type of switches?(some make a lot of noise, but it's nice for you to have the feedback), do you want leds?staggered/ortholinear?. (If you don't intend to use a split keyboard I don't recommend ortholinear, you kind of lose the interest of finger alignment.) Can you solder ? Then you could buy all the pieces and diy. Ask around your colleagues see if someone has one. And try to type a day on it. As a first, if you really can't get any to try I would go for a normal tkl with cherry brown switches like a code keyboard, a das keyboard or a wasd. Some ducky are nice too. They are all in your price range and you really can't go wrong. For all the rest, it will take some money and patience. But if you spend 8h+ a day on the computer, then it's worth it. I bought 7 keyboard with all type of switches before understanding exactly what I wanted. (I'm still waiting to get my hands on a topre...but if you reach that part...you're in too deep hehe)
