Air leaks, do not buy.

I thought this too but turned out I didn't close the release chamber completely.

Warm, "regular" is just the right size for me (5'10" 200#, side sleeper), super comfortable. No valve issues -- came with one for inflating, one for deflating. Holds air fine. Fast to inflate. Very happy with this purchase.

Consider me a Klymit skeptic. I’ve now owned both this insulated version and the ultralight version. Both became unusable due to slow air leakages. I wish I could say better things about this Klymit pad collaboration with MD, but after only a few backpacking trips I was finding myself having to reinflate in the middle of the night. Then it turned into two times a night. On colder nights, I was reinflating three goddamn times. Wasn’t any noticeable perforation in the pad anywhere (submerged in water, nothing found) as it took about 3 hours to deflate enough to be unusable. Tried seamsealing around the valves with no luck. Assuming a flaw in the heat sealing. Made in China. Enough said. Avoid. I’ve been soured to this company. Never buying anything they make ever again.

I have used the pad for over a year now. I've had no problems with air leaking (except for the time I left a valve open.. oopsie) and I have used it in the summer and in the winter and honestly I can say that it is a warm pad. I have the regular size and am quite happy with it, but it is a little narrow for men. It makes some noise, but it's liveable. You have to watch out for not pumping too much air into it, sometimes it's hard to get the sweet spot so is firm enough to sleep on, but not too firm so your shoulders will die during the night. Overall a good buy.

I recently went on an overnight hiking trip and was very impressed with this pad. It wasn't cold so I can't speak to the insulation quality just yet, but space linitations left my upper back over a large tree root. The pad evenly distributed my weight and I couldn't feel the root at all. I was very unhappy with the inflatable pillow until I realized it is much more comfortable when only partially inflated.

mine went completely flat after testing it out by evenly distributing weight on it for 7 hours. If it held air it would be awesome. Returning for a refund. Buyer beware..

I have issues with this pad not staying fully inflated throughout the night. It's OK for the price, I don't think the R value is as high as they claim. Considering it's not that much more expensive over the Z Lite I still think it has pretty decent value, but its inability to stay inflated through the night makes it quite useless to me.

I have now used this pad on four trips and slept on it seven nights and I love it. The first night I did not love it. Woke up around 4am on a half deflated pad. Determined air to be slowly leaking from deflation valve. Opened and closed the valve a few times making sure it was sealing properly. Inflated pad and tested for leak -- no bubbles, no leak. Tested it for about a week before taking it out on another trip. No more leaks. I've repeatedly used it in freezing temps and stayed warm. Very comfortable and quiet. Stows away easily, takes very little room in my pack and is very light. The deflation valve leak problem seems to be a common complaint judging by the other reviews. It is hard to close and get a good seal at first, but mine works fine now after I worked with it a little.

I moved out of campus in Spring 2018 and rented a room without a bed, so I had been sleeping on this Klymit sleeping pad for the whole semester (about four months) every single day, never have a problem. I went back home during summer (deflated the pad and kept it away), but when I started to use the pad again in fall semester, it started to leak the second week. I have to inflate the sleeping pad every night because it will deflates to half the next morning, still cannot locate where it leaks until today.

I love this pad. It is comfortable and quiet. The short size is 60” x 20”, which is bug enough for me at 5’10”.

My most unsuccessful purchase. Blows off through the deflate valve, I have to inflate again at night. Paid shipping makes warranty unprofitable.

Tried the pad two nights in a tent. It went flat both nights. I really like all of the features (plus the dimensions of the large pad) of the Massdrop x Klymit pad, so rather than sending it back, I looked for a solution. I filled up the bath tub to check for a leak. I immediately found bubbles coming from the "deflate" valve. I considered replacing the entire valve, but decided to look for an easier solution before tearing things apart. Luckily I found a rubber washer/gasket from a faucet aerator kit. It is just big enough that you have to stretch it over the "plug" and slide it down to the base. I was able to close the valve tightly after the installation. I have had the pad inflated for three days, sleeping on it for two nights and one afternoon nap. NO deflation! It is surprising to me that no one else is trying or reporting this fix. It was so simple. It is also surprising that Massdrop and Kylmit haven't figured this out and offered an easy fix for those with problems. It would have to be cheaper to supply a simple rubber washer/ gasket/ o-ring than to replace entire pads. I would rather have an easy fix than dealing with sending things back, a refund, etc. The way the pad is performing now, I would rate it with 5 stars. But a pad that won't hold air hardly deserves a single star. Luckily this was an easy fix for me.

can you provide some pics so I can do the same? Thanks!

Here you go. The "plug" appears to be about 7/8 of an inch (or 24mm) across. You can likely go into any hardware store and find a washer (or maybe o-ring) to fit. I had to stretch this one to fit over the plug. I have had no deflation problems with this fix.

Purchased this last year thinking it would work well for my back packing trips in summer/fall of 2018. It didn't. After being used for four nights, it started deflating where now its completely deflated after a night's use. Can't even locate the source to try to repair, probably around the inflate or deflate nozzle points. And for $65, that's too much of a loss. Recommend that you use your money towards the price of a (much) better one. -Michael.

Good and compact. Price is a little high though.

Sadly, another leaky pad. Aside from the air-holding part, this pad is pretty ideal in all other respects. But I don't want to risk waiting for and receiving another defective product, so I've just contacted Customer Service and requested a refund.

I like this pad. Its not as comfortable as a thermarest but it does the job and is less than half the money. I used this pad in different temperatures from 25C to -6C. Around minus 4 I got a little bit cold around my butt because the air in the pad was cooling of and therefor the pad deflating. I had to give it some more air multiple times this night. But for the rest of the time ist served me well.

Good weight and i slept really nice with it. having patch kit included is also nice. Ps: if your having deflation issues check your deflation valve mine was quite hard to close

I bought the “short” version for my lightweight set up. It is extremely light, rolls up and fits in the small stuff sack perfectly. The insulation is great. Wish it had another 1/2 inch of inflation thickness, but can’t complain. Great price. Great product.

Not a bad sleeping pad at all, but I think that my mat is having the same deflation issues that other people are speaking of. It doesn't completely deflate, but my pad definitely has less air in it by the time morning comes. I have used it once in my bedroom and on one overnight and noticed the same issues each time. It's not bad enough where I can't sleep at all, but I'm afraid it may get worse.

The 1st pad I received deflated within a couple of hours of laying on it. Inflated again and same thing happened. Customer service did a fantastic job with providing return options. I chose to be sent a different pad and return the 1st one. The 2nd pad did the same thing. I have returned both and requested a refund. Some kind of manufacturing defect must have occurred that needs resolved. I was really looking forward to using this pad on my next outdoor adventure.

I tried it last night before my trip. I timed it that every 90 minutes I had to refill it or my hips would feel the ground and wake me up. I love the features. Quick inflate and deflate. I have the added feature of not needing to deflate in the morning. ;)

It slips around a bit in the night and I wish there was a way to lash my bag to the sleeping mat. All things considered, though, this is a fantastic mat. Very comfortable. Easy to inflate and adjust. Quick to pack up. Couldn’t suggest it more. 4.5 if I could

Seems like a cool pad but defective. I wanted to test it before taking it on a backpacking trip, so I tried it out at home. I woke up on the floor after my 2nd night of testing this thing! I will be returning it.

Have spent four nights on it: a test sleep on the floor at my house, a night on the north rim, a night at bright angel, and a night camping in the backyard with my daughter. PairEd with an Enlightened Equipment quilt, it’s perfection. Easy to inflate, doesn’t leak, good insulation. Recommend filling it just enough that it passes the hip test: if your on your side, your hip doesn’t touch the ground.

This pad is perfect for this 5ft girl! The pad did not slip and slide everywhere. I’m a side sleeper and don’t move around much and I slept soundly all night. I took it out for three nights with temps being in the 40s. I wasn’t cold at all. It insulates well from the ground and is not noisy.

After using this for several trip now, I'm very happy with it. It's easy to pack up, even when your tent is wet and you can't lay it over the fly and it packs down nice and small. As a side sleeper, I find this very comfortable and am a big fan of the design. It seems quite durable and I can see this pad lasting a long time, though there is a warranty. I'm also a big fan of the two separate one-way valves which makes for easy, precise inflation and easy, quick deflation.
