A desk that can support both sitting and standing positions would have been very appealing had it been an L-shaped (corner) desk. I don't miss carpal tunnel syndrome enough to go back to a regular shape desks. After having this problems solved by using L-shaped desk both at work and at home, this is the only type of desk I'm willing to use. I hope they introduce a Sit-to-Stand version of this type.

YirgCarpal tunnel syndrome boils down to prolonged incorrect posture, your desk was most likely not what caused your carpal tunnel. I'd do some research on ergonomic input devices and practicing proper posture before pinning the blame on the type of desk you're utilizing.

rynepI'm absolutely certain it's the type of desk. You see, with a regular desk the palms lay on the desk, but the forearm is in the air, putting strain on one's carpal tunnel. With an L-shape desk (corner desk), this is very easy to avoid, because one can also lay the forearms on the desk, removing the weight from the palms and easily maintaining the recommended ergonomics.
In theory you can do this with the arm rests of the chair, but in practice it's not possible to sit close enough, and even if it was (with much shorter arm rests), any movement of the chair would create a space between the arm rest and the desk.
To illustrate what I'm talking about, just compare where the forearms are and guess which one puts more strain on one's palms:

Switching to an L-shaped desk was one of the best things I ever did, and I haven't had any hint of Carpal Tunnel syndrome since. I can only hope others who read this will give such desks a try.

YirgYeah but notice how the lady's arm creates a near-perfect right angle. If you adjust your chair and/or desk to be able to match this, the wrist pain will be minimal. Obviously it's not going to match an arm resting on a desk, but I still firmly believe most cases can be avoided by recording yourself and how you droop down while working. Most of us have been there, but most of us are also too lazy to pay attention to it until the pain starts to arrive. There are quite a few posture exercises on YouTube to help correct any issues you might have, and I would especially recommend them if you've already gone through a trial of wrist pain and/or have bad posture in general.
In any case, glad to hear the pain is mitigating in your situation. Our wrists were not evolved to handle the digital workload we put on them these days!

YirgI'm looking at adding another sit-stand desk for my wife who has been working at home so I know about your concerns.
I know not related to this massdrop, but I have a 72 inch wide sit-stand desk with a depth longer around 33. The one I currently own/use daily is this (https://m.costco.com/ApexDesk-Elite-Series-71%22-X-33%22-Height-Adjustable-Table%2c-Moonlight-White.product.100243963.html).
With this much depth and curve, what i do is have the monitors pushed all the way to the back and the keyboard is place near the monitor. By doing so, I can rest my arms on the desk. Depending on how I maneuver my foot rest below, sometimes my elbow hang off a little. My preference actually is to have my elbows slightly off the desk, but that could be my arrangement of the things on my desk. I'll attach a picture later to show this.
Something to consider if the adjustable L-desks are hard to come by.

Eduard616That doesn't result in a proper sitting posture and screen distance. Just try an L-shape and you'll immediately feel the difference.

Yirgput your screen further back?.. and your posture doesn't change significantly if you move just your arms forward for done support
