Hitting the 95th hour of break in on this amp combo. Each time I come back to it, I try to listen to the same tracks as a benchmark. I have to say at this point, it surprised me how much wider the soundstage seems to have expanded.
It definitely has a warmer feel to it, the 6khz spike of the hd800 is subdued. I will test some comparisons of my AKG K141 Studio, Shure 215SE, Shure 425SE, AKG 240, Fostex T50RP and Sennheiser HD800 (modded). To see how it compares to a Audioengine D1, ifi Micro SE, and my Sony DH540.
